Guy streaming Doom LIVE NOW, from the first maps of the game, new maps are being shown, he seems to get owned all the time tho, not progressing cause it is so hard.
That is positive though.
[EDIT] Watched the stream for like 7 hours and he fought himself to hell, and holy shiet did this game exceed everyones expectations. If you ever doubted to get it. If you're in it for the SP, Get it.

You know you've succeeded when you have TotalBiscuit of all people to be as giddy as a schoolboy.

Re: DOOM gets release date and a trailer.
Finished the game around half an hour ago, took me 11 hours. I loved it, every bit of it.
There wasn't a single moment in the game where I was bored, or felt like I wanted to stop playing.
The bosses were fun as hell, and all I can say about the ending is: expect a sequel
Solid goddamn 10/10

Yeah, I'm waiting a little until I can get my hands on a GTX 1080, but so far I'm seeing positive feedback on it.
Re: The 1st Gameplay Preview of Doom 4.
The End Spider Mastermind fight is a bit disappointing, to say the least:
Re: DOOM gets release date and a trailer.
Here's to hoping Doom 1 remastered becomes a DLC mappack.

That looked pretty cool actually.

That actually looks quite slow compared to how fast the fight was when I was playing it. He's fighting the boss quite differently, heh (plus he's using the weapon wheel, which slows the pace down quite a bit, he could be playing on a console)

I'm a bit disappointed that its just a tiny circular room for the final boss fight. Even Doom 3 had a bigger battle than that.

Doom 3's boss battle was "kill 3 imps and use the Soul Cube 3 times to win", the final fight. i wouldn't exactly call it much bigger, since all you did was running around killing small fry to kill the big fish. even Doom's final area wasn't much prettier.Amuscaria wrote:I'm a bit disappointed that its just a tiny circular room for the final boss fight. i can't really comment on the final fight of the game, but the introduction for the Mastermind was pretty cool.

On the topic of vampiric health: NOBODY did it better than Savage Quest, a beat-em-up themed around dinosaurs so it made perfect sense to regain health and hunger from the corpses of your enemies. Because you eat them. Because you're a mommy t-rex. It worked there so I see no reason it won't work well to set the pace here too, even if it looks a little odd.

Re: DOOM gets release date and a trailer.
I watched a colleague of mine play a bit of it tonight, and I guess I'm impressed so far. There's only one thing that perplexes me.... the chainsaw has ammo now?!
But I do love how the PS4 box (his copy at least) has a reversible cover with the original box recreation on it.

Is anyone else getting this "Developer mode" stuff? I tried to play this a few hours after morning and it the menu told me about features being disabled and my save file being corrupted.
