[SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
They also had a really cool intro in both D3 and (even better IMO) in the leaked Alpha.

lolol it's my favourite video game enemy, now in Doom

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Cool - but he could do with being a bit taller. Those guys were quite a bit taller than the player in Q2.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Nice - any chance of a Gunner using the same technique?

EttinGrinder, your edits are so awesome. The orcs are kinda reminiscent of the early Pre-WoW Warcraft orcs. Awesome stuff.

Super Shotgun without the sawn-off barrel?

Edit: Is this too long?

I do think it is.CaptainToenail wrote:Edit: Is this too long?

It's not necessarily too long, but the perspective comes out wrong.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Yeah, I don't think it is too long. Looks much like the length of a shotgun a friend of mine has. The wooden bit needs to be extended IMO and, yes, the perspective seems wrong somehow too.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
It also looks odd because of how far back the supporting (left) hand is. It looks unwieldy, and I think that's probably what makes it look too long...
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Yes, perhaps that's what I was actually thinking when I mentioned the wood bit needing to be extended.
It's a shame that this image is so strongly silhouetted because it's actually a really good image of a shotgun (double barrelled I think), showing relative proportions of the barrels and hand grip too.

Mind you, this is pretty good too:

I don't know. It kinda looks like the barrels get narrower, and seeing how the shells themselves are exactly as wide as the insides of the barrels (if Cory Whittle's sprite edits are anything to go by) then the player's going to have a hard time actually firing the damn things.
You can't really make the SSG any more badass than it already is.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Wrong. You can, if you make it have four barrels.jimmy91 wrote:You can't really make the SSG any more badass than it already is.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Wasn't the SSG the only original DooM weapon that was hand-drawn, and not from a digital image? If so, it's a darn good sprite regardless.
And BTW:
Oh, and making it longer would make it more accurate, and possibly stronger. So, will you call it the Super Duper Shotgun (SDSG)? Unless that's already taken by the quad shotty of course.
