I finally got around to playing this new version. I'm really loving most of the changes you made! It's too bad that neat weapons mod shop from the earlier versions is gone. Is there a reason why that was removed?

I did notice one bug though. If you die either right when you do the finishing melee move on an enemy or right after you complete the finishing move on an an enemy and die, if you type in the resurrect command, you cannot switch to any other weapons or perform a melee attack. You are stuck with the weapon you had when you died.

I assume the previous weapon shop was fairly ineffective and process consuming. Not to mention, it freezes monsters, rather than legitimately pausing the game as a menu in singleplayer would do, or the upgrade menus in DOOM.

Also, I don't think people should be cheating too much with this mod... XD

But wait a second... pray tell, what weapon did you die with? Did it happen to be the Super Shotgun, by chance?

Yeah, I think I was using the super shotgun when the bug occured.

I figured the shop idea was ultimately scrapped due to the reason you mentioned.

The super shotgun is bugged currently. However, there is an escape!

First, make sure your SSG is in "single mode". Then, try to select another weapon. Finally, fire your shotgun. It will instantly switch to whatever weapon you selected. Then, do a melee attack, so that if you switch back to the SSG you won't be stuck until the bug occurs yet again.

Finally got around to playing this. I just ran into a bug. I was fighting and I realized that my view was stuck, cocked to the side. Also, I exited a level as a demon and nothing broke. It was only when I saved the game, loaded it, and then finished the level that I had an issue. If you're holding altifre with the repeater and firing. you can continue to shoot without ammo.

Now for some issues I have.

I really hate that you have to keep clicking to use certain weapons.
There's no indicator on the HUD that I have berserk. Your available ammo would be very helpful as well.
Some weapons will switch when out of ammo and some don't, it's annoying.
Weapon priorities are weird, preferring the shotguns over the plasma rifle as an example.
The credit bonus for maxing the level is so huge that if you're like me and don't know where all the secrets are, you feel like you're getting jipped and always starved for cash.
The chaingun feels shitty to use due to extremely slow build up. Then when you get the turret upgrade you run out in 5 seconds. Meanwhile, I'm constantly swimming in rockets, making the lock on upgrade near mandatory for me.
I wish the staggered enemies would play an animation instead of being frozen in place.
The shotgun reticle is round but the pellets are horizontal.
Please add SF_NOPULLIN|SF_NOTURN to the chainsaw.

Well, I would argue that both shotguns are better than Plasma Rifle generally. PR seems to have been buffed since pre-v2.0 D4D, but it still lacks in firepower compared to the Classic Doom one. Meanwhile, CSG is quite fast for a shotgun while having around the same DPS as in Classic games, and Burst Shot makes it even faster. And SSG seems to be outclassed only by BFG at close range. IMO, PR does not seem to be as reliable as CSG, let alone SSG.

Meanwhile, I am loving the Repeater! It consumes much ammo, but it is worth it when picking off enemies far at distance. It is so good and nimble to aim that I do not even bother with Tactical Scope for HAR. I just wish that it could fire in true semiauto (could be toggled between single and triple firemodes via Mod Switch).
On the other note, I am getting loads of ammo for my Carrion Cannon. I get it so much of that I frequently just use it to wipe out packs of Zombies quickly, and I will have 5000 corpseunits shortly afterwards anyway.
Also: fully upgraded Static Rifle is fearsome! Considering that every fully charged shot takes down a Hellknight, the Synergized SR makes short work even of Cyberdemons! I do not care if it is broken, but it is awesome! :wub:

Its possible by using the share button to take screenshots on your PS4, but you would have to do in some way to rip it

A fuckton of reasons actually.
  1. There was a nasty exploit that basically allowed you to gain infinite grenades with no recharge time. Thankfully only one or two people found it.
  2. ACS scripts aren't ever time frozen, nor is moving level floors/walls/whatever the hell else have you
  3. When you have nothing left but a really long-ass elevator ride up, you can't open the menu because everything would just get stuck under the ground, even the player.
  4. Crushers could be exploited
  5. Powerups went to waste
  6. On rare chance it could stupendously dropkick FPS while idle.
  7. Some others that I forgot about.
SSG 'bug': meh. You cheated. :P

We're all aware of the demon morph issue, though the repeater DBT will have to look out.

If in doubt, spend it on crates and get an automap. Also, upgraded crates up the chance for an automap to spawn more immediately. And EVERYTHING is affected by the credits upgrade, mind you, including the bonuses.

It's not broken. If you spam click your primary and secondary fire keys fast enough you can kill a cyberdemon in one full charge drain. This was intentional. You spent 25k on that fucking thing, you better be able to fuck some face with it! :mrgreen:

Hey there. Any chance we can get a HUD that's more compatible with old 5:4 (1280x1024) screens? Things work ok as is, but it'd be nice to have a HUD that wasn't clipping off the screen. :p

- You expect someone to remember if they've picked up a berserk for each level? Even the alt HUD for zdoom shows berserk icon.

- I'm talking about weapons flashing "out of ammo", like the repeater.

Currently playing this new update with the HD Doom 3 Textures add-on and the other add on's within the other thread, along with HoE starter pack... it's amazing.
