If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

I might try my hand at writing some Linux support patches for engoo when I have the time, if that's fine.

To my disgrace I discovered I frankensteined the wrong faces on some frames...Gee, sure will be fun fixing that thing

Although I should admit, I'm pretty much at a good % of progress regarding the whole thing

Bonus points if you recognize the face, not that it's actually hard to do, anyway

Wasted some time making something random, I'm not too sure if I like it. I usually don't enjoy mapping as I'll spend 2-3 hours on a deeply unsatisfactory product:

Go for it. I'm not going near SDL or Linux personally because backends aren't really something I'm interested in mucking with, and even if I did mess with Linux versions, I don't think a raw X11 version would sit well for 2013's Linux gaming audience...

stealth based CO, i like it much! if every units movement is faster then the others, their damages should be powerful if they attacked first for ambush. and weak at enemy's siege fire. BTW, recon, submarie and stealth fighter could be useful though.

and most important problem is make her into advence wars style sprite. the first one was total cartoonish, now many years has been passed, they grabbed reality.
and if you're good at pixel art for follow their art style, i'll wish you a luck.

With Mir and Wayland around the corner, yeah, a raw X11 version would be a horrible idea. ;)

hmm, extra damage from cover isn't a bad idea. perhaps they'd do 10% less damage on roads, plains, and the like, and would do extra damage in forests and reefs. that could knock out her overall damage penalty for all units. also, the damage boost could be given to her in Fog of War maps, too, so her stealth skills wouldn't be completely selective. how would the submarine and recon be more useful, though?

also, the drawing is just a proof of concept. whether this would actually be done as a character in the game i can't say at this point.

I'd rather work with SDL, at least it's the library I'm used to (I had some adventures with SFML but I found it rather... "unfun").

I personally think of all the options for display management on Linux, Wayland is the most reasonable (not just because it's the most similar to my own WALFAS project), and since Mir seems to be just Canonical having more NIH syndrome...

So, uhh... do there happen to be any sprite artists about these parts that might be interested in doing some work for a rater specific project of mine? I'm finding the graphics to just be way too time-consuming. I was hoping to have more to show when I unveiled the project, but with the sprite work taking about three to four times as long as any comparative work elsewhere...
Spoiler: In case anyone's wondering, here's a taste of what's there already...
