Well, it is definitely bigger, but it seems to compress MUCH better than an actual image.
Of course, it could be even better, but this is pretty much just to see what one can do.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Here's the source code.
It's coded in C#. It's probably set to require .NET Framework 4.5, but it should work fine if you set it to 4.0.
Yes, I know the way I read files is [censored word], but I'm too lazy to change this to actually use a FileStream.
Currently does not support tall patches.
I'll upload a compiled version later.
[edit]Actually, nevermind. It requires .NET Framework 4.5.
I'll add tall patches support and change it so it requires 4.0 instead and then I'll upload binaries of it along with the source for the new version.[/edit]

I keep trying to think of practical uses for this, but nothing is really coming to mind. Maybe some sort of shader-esque code for HUD sprites? Still, pretty nifty show of effort, I guess.Nash wrote:You're crazy. XDphantombeta wrote:

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
It's excellent for putting things together and aligning things like.... smooth doom. Hajime No Ippo's boxing game uses a lot of repeated sprites in different places so it'd be perfect there as well, making it so someone isn't uploading the same graphic two or three times in a row.
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
So what can you do if you install ffsplit and dump a recent ffmpeg build into \Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\FFsplit\ffmpeg\ ?

You can record in YUV 4:4:4!!!

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Hey guys.
I finally added tall patches support. I also changed it so that it uses .NET Framework 4.0 instead of 4.5.
Here's the binaries
Here's the source code
I also changed it so that it actually uses a FileStream instead of shoving the entire file into a byte array.

I need to rack up played-hours for tf2. Otherwise, I'll keep getting kicked of MvM-Servers with anything harder then normal.

That's pretty normal. NTFS isn't exactly designed with the way *nix filesystems scatter data blocks in mind.Blox wrote:So that backup of my system drive I did while running on Mint? Yeah, about that.
It looks pretty horrifying.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Just tried Superfighters Deluxe. It's everything I wished for in the original game- online multiplayer and more weapon choices and the ability to run with the weapons out!
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
I would like to announce to everybody here that any projects I am working on right now will be on hold for a while as I get my personal life together. While it's not exactly what I did last, I can't think of any other thread to post this. Maybe if we had an announcements thread or something.
