He must be infected by a Scareware. Use Hijackthis or MalwareBytes.

There's tons of different programs, the one and only I use is Norton Internet Security 2010. It rocks my world, plus it can optimize my gaming and recordings while it runs too.

Hey, shit happens even to the best of us at times when we're caught on the crapper... or secret stashes... or...

Back on topic... You know, I have a bunch of rejected material that we decided to throw out of AEoD, I wonder if DBT would let me release it for shits and giggles since it's not part of the wad anymore.

You certainly know what I'm going to say but anyway.

I'm using AEOD 5.3 with Gzdoom 1.4.8.

Sometimes AEOD freezed. For instance on the map02 of Doom 2 when you arrive at the end of the left corridor close from the "house" where you see sky, there's a big bunch of monsters. And the game freezed like 0.3 sec. It happened like 4-5 times per map.I though it was a sound issue (to many sounds together) but after different tries - by changing audio setup in gzdoom, then zdoom, then the original doom 2 -, I wasn't so sure anymore.

And I have just discovered that the issue comes actually from the additional pack AEoDfx.pk3. If I disable it, the problem disappear. If I put the additional pack back, the problem re-appears.

AeoDFX conatins Hi-Res textures, so it uses more RAM.

True, but I got 4Go of RAM - DDR3 G.Skill Extreme Series RH 4Go ( 2*2 ) PC16000 2000MHz to be precise - and I wasn't thinking that AEOD uses so much. I mean, I have no problem at all with other games like GTA 4 or Crysis :)

DooM's rendering engine is Different than the ones found in newer games like Crysis and GTA4. AEoD is a huge motherfucker of a wad, with lots of different resources. The game can constantly lag because of the engine needing to calcuate what resources it shall show up when you open a door with a bunch of new monsters. Add the AeoD FX pack to that massive amount of resource calcuation, and the game can get severe slowdowns, even if your comp handles Crysis pretty well.

Yeah I thought that the issue came from the relative oldness of the Doom engine.
Thanks for the precisions :)

It's just like how Ghouls Forest 3 got some flak, because the high resolutions slowed the game down. That's one reason why I never run aeodfx.pk3, and for the hell of it, I disable all the customized stuff like trees and hanging bodies/corpses. I prefer enemies, guns, and rooms filled with them, not effects/props (with the exception of barrels)

Great suggestion IMO: Aeod5 combined with this Armadosia http://www.armadosia.com/ and GZdoom. Currently on level nine(9) and feels kinda epic, so far.

Another suggestion; Daniel's monsters and stuff like the quad shotgun, the robotic railgunner and his tall 15000 Mega Vixen(not the Gold Edition one)... it would be fun to see those in Aeod. Neodoom was a great gift for Doom ... Does someone thinks the same?
