Arg, stop walking you demons! :D

It could mean that certain annoying enemies (ie lost soul and pain elemental) would become less annoying by comparison. ;)

That HUD sprite of a grenade launcher looks a bit like a flamethrower.

Then the fists will completely lose their use when you get the chainsaw and you can't do a pinkie slaughter fest anymore.

Although I think the chainsaw should have a swing alt fire for 1 hit K.O. Alternative

Both suggestions have already been discussed. Not going to happen.

And that's just the 2 requests for a chainsaw Alt attack just on this page. How many are on the previous 106 pages?

Make the chainsaw alt-fire into a (throwable) bouncing chainsaw projectile that keeps on ripping! The chainsaw would be even more useful as a chainsaw trap utility (as long it doesn't fall down a hole). Any monster walking into the noisy trap will be walking on a tread of blades. It is not known whether picking up the trap will hurt or not hurt the player. >:)

Maybe allow the monsters to jack and hold stuff would make the the wad better/challenging?
Maybe make the archvile able to reconstruct body parts into their former self or even adominations/Frankenstein-like monsters (monsters or messed up body parts [reference from messed up robots in Star Wars: Chibi Rebellion #.#:])? It's like facing a reincarnated monstrosity w/ all the doom monster abilities.

Let me re-say something we already said a few times in this thread:

CHAINSAWS DON'T WORK THAT WAY.

Most people think that chainsaws are some kind of "cut through anything" piece of hardware, but it's not.

Chainsaws cut by applying heavy friction via blades attached on a chain, that is spun when the chainsaw is running. So they only work if they are just pressed against what you are cutting, and not slashing wildly. On top of that, chainsaws are HORRIBLY fragile. Just slash anything with a chainsaw, and watch as it goes screwy.

I have a sane idea!
Make the chainsaw upgradable !
Give it spikes, an energy coat, anything!

Spoiler:
I think the reason you are getting so many requests for an alt attack for a chainsaw is due to Zero Tolerance's upgraded chainsaw attack. Sweeps from side to side, it would make the xdeath (with zombies and imps) where they are chainsawed in half look alot smoother. But I do agree with terranova's comment. My opinion is that I love brutaldoom so far and any choice they make won't change my mind about constantly using their mod with every map I can lol.

I kinda imagined it like this lol...

I think if the people that think it is a "slicing" tool get out and try to cut down a full grown tree with one then they might see where you are coming from. It's a pain in the ass that's for damn sure.

You know what? Scrap all the weapons and add a bouncing boomerang chainsaw. As if we need anything else.

About chainsaw alt-attack: This may look like a normal attack, but it would be very short thrusting the saw in the stomach, after which the enemy (like the imp) rip out the guts.

Guys, look, the chainsaw alt-attacks just are not going to happen... I thought we already settled this. :|
