I remember that you wanted to do 3d modeling to do new monsters sprites faster. Are those concept for this, or do you plan to have thom in a 3d game of sort (Quake, maybe)?
Personallly, I prefer the Vulgar redesign: this dead rotten looks very cool and it blends symmetry and asymmetry nicely. And the Hellion is also lovely.
The new style you have reminds me of Darksiders, and for me it's not a bad thing at all

Looks sweet. Pity the Heretic textures suck - they make that whole area look almost cartoony, because they look so bad on large surfaces.

The Heretic textures are great. However, they've been designed to be cut and trimmed. Look at any of the IWAD levels, it'll very soon be evident. They are very detailed and they have impeccable alignments.

Thinking about it... I guess this is a case of "a lot of work put into something you won't notice."
