Try the philippines, no bus schedules, just wait on the sidewalk and hope to catch one enroute.

Playing Minecraft with mod packs.
Encountered a Thaumcraft Taint biome that was so bad I had to change into Creative Mode just to get it under control. (There's no way I could get that many Ethereal Blooms and Silverwood Saplings in any reasonable amount of time. If there's a better way to fight it, I haven't unlocked it yet.)
Now, I understand why Taint exists; it's a punishment for using magic irresponsibly, forcing you to either take precautions or risk ruining everything. That's fine... but this was naturally-occurring. This massive, nigh-unstoppable infestation was generated by the game through no action or inaction of my own; It didn't start small and I just let it get that bad, I had literally just generated those chunks and they were already completely taken over by the purple blight. Wasn't any sort of corrupted Aura Node (actually, there were several healthy normal ones around) or anything either, it was just there. :stuppor:

Minecraft-Mods annoyed me a lot. I could (and can) never get them to work properly...
The only thing I could ever get to work was TMI and an egg-craftables-mod.

If I played Minecraft, one of the first mods I would get would be Mystcraft. Its existence just makes me happy somehow.

That's kind of surprising, given the nature of the mod you were making.

Well, I'm not a big fan of the look of the anime-style in general (with a few exceptions). I usually stick to the "not-anime"-style for RD, when it comes to the graphical stuff. I think I shouldn't talk about the difference in the way you interact with things between HDoom and RD, though.

But I totally understand that some people heavily dislike the nature of RD, and I'm very happy about the fact that I'm not an Egon, or that such people don't exist.

I highly recommend adding Chisel to it. Mystcraft is badass in its own right and it's a shame more servers can't keep up with the demand of generating new worlds as often as players would want to generate them, but at least with an almost purely graphical mod like Chisel you can throw down decoration like nobody's business. I mean the thing manages to add cool looking COBBLESTONE blocks to the game, all with an infinite durability chisel tool so long as you don't use the tool to hand sculpt a placed block. And I can't get enough of factory blocks. Connecting hazard style striped blocks? Where have these things been all my life?

Beat Parasite Eve 1 & 2 for the first time; I've had them sitting on the shelf for years. 1 is awesome; If I had any big caveats, it'd be the fact that your movement speed is painfully limited. Makes me wish I could make a 'romhack' of this one and make Haste usable outside battle, along with some other stuff, like cutscene-skipping, better battle menu that allows you to use Parasite Energies w/o opening the Main Menu, streamlining menus by making Sort a function of the Item Menu rather than its own menu, handling item storage better by having shortcut keys for one-button transferring of held items to storage or vice versa, etc, etc. Excellent soundtrack that makes the game, along with the weapons customization.

I can see why 2 has the rep it does, what with it ditching RPG mechanics (and the weapon customization, oh man the weapons customization! An MP5SD6 that uses shotgun shells! I made that in PE1!) almost entirely to be a Resident Evil-like.

Won't be playing The 3rd Birthday; I read a plot summary of the game's first cutscene, and I had to look at the title to make sure I wasn't reading something from a recent Kingdom Hearts game. And as much as I have liked the KH games, that comparison is not made in a positive manner. Also, I know that Squenix couldn't use anything that was part of the PE license, but did they really have to change her powers to hacking into people's brains? Way to remind people of one of your last-gen worst games, guys!

Next on the dock is Final Fantasy VIII. It is the PSX FF I have played the most of, probably because of the depth in its character customization.

FF8 is awesome and probably my most favorite game of the whole series thus far. it's really fun breaking the game in two with the simple act of playing cards to acquire demi-god powers. i think i only ever got wiped once in the entire game, and that was a mistake on my part (the boss unleashed a powerful party attack that wiped me because i used Darkside so much that everyone's HP was low.)

that being said, its storyline is quite frankly too convoluted and makes no goddamn sense at the end of the game. the ending is kind of cool, though, and it looks really pretty. most of the music has nostalgic connections to me as well, though i really prefer The Man With The Machinegun as the battle theme instead of Don't Be Afraid. and the boss theme is kind of tame, though you could kill everything in a few hits if you know what you were doing, so i guess it can be excused for that. WITHOUT GFs.

If the taint is spreading, there's a tainted node generating it. They're usually deep underground, near the center of the tainted region; strap on some Goggles of Revealing and go digging down to find it. If you break the node that SHOULD stop the taint spreading. Bear in mind the tainted node may have infected other underground aura nodes in the general area, which would require the destruction of ALL tainted nodes in that region for it to work.

Alternatively you can just move far enough away that the chunks unload, and that will freeze its spread in its tracks, giving you all the time in the world to acquire tools of containment if you so choose.

You're not the only one. Most people I know just flat-out think Laguna and co. should have been the main characters. :P

and with good reason: Laguna is a legitimately entertaining main character, and Kiros and Ward's disbelief in some of the actions he does is quite funny. but they still together with each other. that's not to say that the other characters are boring, but i'd guess that Laguna's antics strikes home much better than Squall's initial lone-wolf and immature attitude (which is justified by the game's story, actually.)
