Just a quick update, im going to start ramping up work, so ive decided to post a weekly alpha for people to playtest. I need all the comments and critism that you can bring to bear.
Check back every tuesday for another update, some are small some are very very big.

First of all, I saw this bit in the rifle2 code:

This is because you have the +WEAPON.AMMO_CHECKBOTH flag for some reason, and no ammo2. Rifle, however, has an ammo2 and altfire. Since this does not, delete the flag.

I also have some complaints about the characters- most of their advantages are not acknowledged here.
  • Thi Barrett does not get her bayonet attack buff.
  • Dimitri Paramo starts with a shotgun for some reason. I guess he was supposed to be good with all weapons, but this is a bit too much, as this alone puts him way ahead of the others at the start.
  • Lorelei Chen's "pistol" (that is, the rifle) doesn't get a buff.
  • There doesn't seem to be a coded shotgun buff for John Pietrovich (also, it's incorrectly spelled in-game as Petrovich).
All that being said, I like where this is going, and it's good to see this being updated. Is this a one-man project at the moment? You haven't mentioned working with anyone else, and this is a pretty big project to take on alone.

It was two man a for a while, but then martix went dark about a week after he started work on the maps for him. He helped alot with the PK3 stucture, and disseapeared soon after that.
Also thi barret is going to get her own special buff for her wepons the marksman rifle that fires slugs, and the slugs will be used with Pietrovichs doubleshotgun which will replace the spray rifle , and woops that shotgun was supposed to go to pietro, on his start
Chen is awaiting a female handed version of the doom pistol.

Will Petro start with the shotgun AND the rifle or just the shotgun? Having 2 good weapons to start would really make him the best character by far.
Also, there seems to be some blur on the last frame of the bayonet attacks.

I think all characters should start with a pistol and rifle or shotgun depending on the character. This would make it so you have a slow long range (rifle) and moderate RoF weapon (pistol) or a close range weapon (shotgun) and pistol. This would make it so that no character would start out more powerful than any other. How does this sound and will you include the spray rifle and chaingun?

First off ive worked out the weapon starts
Thi barret, marksman rifle and bayonet 90hp normal speed
Loreli chen, pistol and some sort of melee weapon. 80hp+green armor for start high speed
Dimitri Paramo Rifle, bayonet 120hp move speed slow speed
Peitrovich Shotgun and rifle with bayonet 100hp modrate

Sure thing, ill pm you some basic hammering i did with the story later today. Also do you know anyone willing to make hud faces for each of the doom bibles players. And an animator to work with the cutscenes?
