You can make it for GZdoom so that you can put holes in 3D ceilings. You can't do that with transfer heights without hideous errors.

Re: differant sized buildings in zdoom
The problem is, ultimately, that Doom isn't a 3D engine. Sooner or later, even if you get the effect you want, you will put something in front of something else that exposes the trick unless you are very careful. However, it is possible to make different height rooms without transfer heights.
Consider the attached file. I has 3 buildings of different heights. However, move near and around the smallest one whilst looking at the tall one and the illusion quickly breaks. The medium sized building uses exactly the same method as the small one to make it look shorter than the main sector but because you can't get into a position where the effect shows against the tall building, the illusion remains intact.

Re: differant sized buildings in zdoom
yah =D the illusion is very nice, but yah it does have its flaws. yes i know doom isnt 3d and however there are many tricks that give off the illusion and pull it off so well that it doesnt matter that doom isnt 3d.
however since d2mzd isnt for gzdoom because i want to show zdoom some love, im striving to find a way to make a better illusion
the doom engine has flaws and this is one of them hope there will be a fix soon, because this doesnt seem like a 3d issue rather a 2d issue
i did love your tutorial =D, many thanks my friend

wait what whyAlwaysDoomed wrote:i want to show zdoom some love
I may just be miscounting, but there's way more ZDoom/Children than GZDoom specific maps. I'd say it's plenty loved.
