You end up here. Jump onto the tiny tree thing.

Then on the small burnt tree.

Then the big tree.

Then on the ledge.

You might need to jump once more onto a ledge but then you find some ammo, a message, and vader's avatar[url]

Well crap. For some reason I had gotten the idea that you weren't going to release this until Sept 14th (I guess I missed an update?). I was going to work on the bit I said I would today, then I found this thread...
I can't really blame you for not waiting around for me, I've been so busy with work (saddly) I've had little to no time for Doom. It is a bit of a shame though, on the side I had been working on these meteors/commets that utilise the other resources I gave you, and I think they would have made a better style choice.

Anyway, I'm keen to play this new itteration, that is, when I get the time.

Hey guys, but I'm having a problem that I have not had before. I realize its noobish to register just to ask a question but I really can't figure out what the problem is.
Is there a required texture package for this or what? when I load up the game and start the first level it appears there is missing textures. I see [ ! ] squares all over the place and some of the walls just appear as blue and white checkerboard patterns, I cant imagine this is how its supposed to look. Also, at the main menu the "Read This" option is out of alignment and is red like the classic menu font unlike the rest of the "quake-ish" menu font.
I downloaded the three texture packages from Torm's page but I am unsure if thats even the issue and if it is what I have to add to the command line to get them to load right.
Is anyone else having the same problem or know what the problem is? I'm really eager to play this and have been looking forward to it since it was announced.
I love your work Tormentor and can not wait to play it in its full glory.
Thanks in advance

You download a zip file. Inside this zip file there are a text file and a pk3 file.mrphysics wrote:Is there a required texture package for this or what? when I load up the game and start the first level it appears there is missing textures. You can ignore the text file for now (standard readme stuff, who ever read those?), but the important thing is the pk3 file. Here's what you need to do with it:
1. Extract it from the zip file.
2. Don't touch it any further. (That is to say, don't extract its content.)
3. Use it instead as you would use a wad file. Run gzdoom -file tutnt.pk3, or drag'n'drop on gzdoom.exe, or right-click on it and chose "Open with GZDoom", or select it in ZDL, whatever is your favorite method to run a wad.
The pk3 contains all the resources needed. All the wad files inside must be loaded together.

Play it with Doom 2 instead of Doom 1.mrphysics wrote:Hey guys, but I'm having a problem that I have not had before. I realize its noobish to register just to ask a question but I really can't figure out what the problem is.

This is pretty neat, but GZDoom seems to crash at the end of intermissions for me.

Thanks for the replies guys, I got it working on my windows XP OS fine now, I guess it doesn't run so well in WINE like KDIZD does, I wonder why.
My video card is up to date and I have a pretty nice comp, It runs fine once I loaded it up in windows.
Anyone else use WINE? I am by no means a Linux expert but haven't had problems with GZDoom till now.
Oh well, I will just have to play this in windows for now, I just finished the first level and it was freaking awesome. I love how it was non linear for the most part. its hella hard, in the good way though, no frustrating key/switch hunts just good ol monsters overwhelming.
BTW what source port works the best for co op?
