Is ZDoom still giving you the same errors as you reported in the first post?

As far as Vista goes... Well, I hear lots of good and bad things about it. I won't be buying it for two reasons: I run Linux, and I can't stand how they've reworked things. But, I'm sure one of these days I'm going to get it with a new computer. At least then I can help my Mom and Dad with their Vista troubles... Which has been since the day they started using it.

And unless I miss my guess, almost every trouble is related to drivers or programs that don't support Vista.

Any new operating system is going to have issues coping with the existing software, and vice versa. That's why most people will recommend waiting until the first service patch before switching over.

Nah, I'm still using XP. I played with the Vista RC1 a little for testing ZDoom compatibility, but I'm not ready to leave XP yet.

I'll probably never switch to Vista unless I absolutely have to. Its too expensive, the system requirements are insane, lots of compatability is broken, and I'm perfectly fine with XP anyways. No point in switching if you don't need too.

That's basically what I told them. I told them to use XP until Vista grows up a bit... But being 3000 miles away doesn't help getting people to listen much. :)

Seriously, I think there was a lot of change just for change's sake in Vista and Office 2007.

I know he got the Vista subject started, but none of this helps Ultraviolet's ZDoom compiling troubles... Maybe just sending him a binary would help?

That looks to me like it could be a Windows binary.

Yeah... I see that smug smile on your face. :)

Well, it IS a binary...

I'm getting more and more information on tweaking/securing WinXP lately, though (kinda necessary for my job), so I don't have too much trouble booting to Windows if I have to for this kind of thing.

If anything, I or someone can pass along the Linux binary for you. All you have to do is supply the IWADs. :)

EDIT: Although, it will be for a version I got off of SVN...
