Pretty awesome conversion.
Given what's possible and not possible, I'd say you pulled it off really well.
I'm not a big fan of Doom64. I hate the music with a passion, except the between levels music, and the sounds are all boring and not the least bit exciting or scary, but that's me.
Of course, one thing I like a lot about it is the level design. I'm actually a little jealous.
But from an objective stance, I'd say I'm a huge fan. Nice.

while co-op would be good dont do deathmatch for this, its not designed for DM at all
