Umm, you are going to drive the tank.
It's not going to be a monster (although someone could do that).

If ya need help with coding vehicles or anything give me a PM, I've made a few functional war machines that are manable.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
would be really cool, but it has a some flaws;
tank's turret at first person sight really need a polishing works though. but it could be bit easy when you have that tank model, for snapshot a turret's view. and vehicle in real life cannot go strafe left or right but turning and go foward or backward. just look at the REELism's tank for example. also that damage effect is sure raping the whole screen, also that copter is really OP though.
without that but copter, that DECORATE is really amazing to see.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
am I the only one who thinks vehicles and aircrafts in FPS games should be viewed from 3rd person perspective?
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Personally, I think drivable vehicles in FPS games should be viewed from a totally different game. I have yet to see any game, any game get it right. And, when I buy a FPS, I want to play a FPS, not a driving game. I can buy a driving game for that. (Although doing so is unlikely because I don't generally like the genre anyway.)
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I only like driving games with weapons. CTR!!! =D
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I see what you're saying. I guess my plan to make a gigantic bodybuilding physique Satan that is twice the size of the Cyberdemon is out of the questionEnjay wrote:The problem is that the bigger it gets, the more unwieldy it gets as a believably functioning enemy within the game. Basically the way that Doom AI entities behave and interact with the world is not really suitable for very big sprites unless some form of trickery is also employed. If a realistically large and proportioned tank sprite is used, frankly, it just looks silly snapping to 45 degree angles, vanishing on occasion when its centre point is no longer in a sector that is in view, being longer than it is wide (yet still having a square collision box) etc etc.

But if I'm playing a first person game, I don't want my view to be forced to switch to third person when I enter vehicles because it ruins my immershun!!!!!111Hornetzero wrote:am I the only one who thinks vehicles and aircrafts in FPS games should be viewed from 3rd person perspective?

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Would it be too hard to let me choose which view to use? (Maybe for doom, but for newer games it can't be too hard)
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
First person view makes the most sense if the game is first person. The tank needs work, as it looks as if the player is on top of the machine gun, and not inside operating the tank. The helicopter is great, just the coding is not the best. It should sway quite a bit when moving directions, a tilt.

decent looking rip! but his left hand is too much close and his arm has no trims. just looks like a cylinder.
