Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
MIDI playback in XMPlay seems to bring out unwanted reverb for some reason. anyone know how to get rid of it?

Go to configure the midi plugin, like you were going to load the soundfont, click mixer, unclick Reverb & Chorus effect processing. Bam. Done.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
oh. i totally missed the Mixer panel in the config, thanks for pointing it out.
now, is there any way to make the MIDI plugin play through the native GM Soundfont? it's the only soundfont that i really care to listen to other MIDIs in, because every other one i've used messes something up in one way or another.

No, but you can find a soundfont that's equivalent to it in virtually every way.

I like the little dog heads.
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Thanks for that! I've been trying to find a GM.DLS to .sf2 conversion but every time I've found one/tried doing it myself the volumes for patches always got messed up.Bouncy wrote:No, but you can find a soundfont that's equivalent to it in virtually every way.

EDIT: Damn, my soundcard can't seem to load it...
Otherwise, I put together a proper MIDI version of the Frontier: Elite II theme, since it wasn't really made with GM in mind before. As a bonus I also recorded the Frontier First Encounters theme too.

playing through doom 3 for the first time... nearing the end, i think; i've been to hell and back. just beat ol' whats-his-face, with the BFG. opened up the fight with a shot from the soul cube. he didn't like that one bit.
i honestly don't get all the hate it gets (flashlight issues aside, which were alleviated by mods/BFG Edition anyway); it's not a bad game at all, it's just utterly different from doom 1 and 2. this whole time i felt like i was playing some sort of doom-flavored half-life mod, which is fine by me. i happen to ENJOY crawling through vents, thank you very much.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
i'm stumped as to where to upload the new songs i've made. my Soundcloud account is filled and i can only upload one more minute of stuff there. is there an alternative to upload songs at? the only ones that comes to mind are Youtube and Tumblr...
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
As you can see in my post, Mediafire lets you host music and can play from the site without downloading the file.
Apparently I have 50GB of space to fill before having to get a pro account ,too.

That's up to your browser to decide. Firefox shows a tiny sound player window in the center of the screen for me, but it's a shame the volume control is limited only to max/mute.
