You're probably better off getting Armageddon anyways. For some reason every Worms after that have only had about half as many weapons. Incredibly despite being released in 1999 the devs are still patching it to this day.

(Don't buy it on Steam, Amazon has it for like $3)

i do have Armageddon. i believe i have every Worms game to date since i got gifted the Worms Ultimate Pack or whatever it's called on Steam, 'cept for Revolution now of course, and that Wii game i don't know what it's called. as for the weapons... maybe they decided to cut some stuff out to re-balance things? each new Worms release has a bunch of re-balancing in terms of weapons and gameplay choices. just that Armageddon managed to hit the right spot of everything.

speaking of WWP, what exactly are the differences between Armageddon and World Party? it just feels like the same game to me, with new missions and some new levels. hardly enough to constitute a full-release, IMO.

my opinion goes to titles.
arma's title's beginning was very intresting until that god damn title music is start...it just blow up my head off. war-like musics, boggy b's never ending warfares.
wolrd party is...just light and funny, less gloomier then arma. and WWP just changed some sounds i think.
any thoughts from you?

It's just a tiny upgrade to WA because the Dreamcast got an updated release of WWA that had online play and a few other tiny changes, so WWP is just the PC port of that.

WWP hasn't been updated since 2003, though. One of the goals for WA's patches is to eventually implement the things that WWP had that WA didn't.

i was in a nostalgic mood tonight, so i decided to download and install an old childhood favorite game of mine, Hogs of War. but there's one thing i find to be jarring: the game contains NO MUSIC WHATSOEVER. it makes the game feel so empty considering how full of music the PSX version was (the "theme song" (a re-arrangement of the Monty Python theme), a 90 second or so overworld theme for the levels, 4 unique audio loops for each of the 6 nationalities you could choose in the game when it was the AI's turn, and maybe something more).

maybe it's a bit of a stretch asking this here, but would anyone happen to know why this is the case, or if there is indeed music on the PC version that i just can't find?

I acutally had this problem with a copy of Warlords 3. Amazingly the version my firend had contained a buttload of CD audio, but the version I picked up lacked it entirely. I actually ended up pirating my friend's copy just to get the music.

...so it seems that smartass me, who decided to try and 'fix' the computer this morning, actually made things worse and now the thing won't start up. i'm not sure what to do against that. when i plugged in the power cable now and turn on the power, there's a faint high.picthed "sweeping" noise or whatever it's called, and it won't respond to the power button on the front. when i turn the power off, the noise gets more low-pitched and then dissappears.

Just kick it until it works.

I've sent a message on the Classic Game Room site to see if I can donate some games for them to review~
One of which will be the PS1 version of Doom...if they haven't already reviewed it...NEED TO CHECK
