I've just bought the game, and it's much better than I expected.

reloading guns? if Serious Sam 3 taught me anything, it's that "relentless swarms of enemies" and "reloading guns" doesn't go well together.

At least, not without careful consideration of how reloading works and how aggressive the swarms are (see Crimsonland).

Maybe if I can do something else while the weapon reloads. Otherwise I better have enough ammo where I don't need to reload in the middle of a firefight.

Okay, thinkgs I like:

- The visuals
- The music
- The movement
- The gore
- The weapon designs
- The shotgun
- The double-barrel upgrade for the shotgun

Things I don't like:

- Bottlenecking. Lots and lots of bottlenecking
- Fall damage
- Pitiful ammo on pickup guns
- Pitiful amount of health terminals
- No bonus items/permanent unlocks following unsuccessful runs. Isn't this supposed to be a roguelite?
- Runs like complete ass
- Occasionally the game glitches out and doesn't generate the maps properly, leaving you unable to progress
- Occasionally the game glitches out and you fall through the floor, ending up in a random area
- Occasionally the game glitches out and the textures don't load properly
- Occasionally the game glitches out etc

In spite of all of the above, I did find myself being sucked in for several hours and I did have fun with the game, I just feel that it isn't what it was marketed as and I'm glad I waited a few days rather than jump right in on day one. Had I done so, I'd probably been as pissed off as a lot of others. I bought it knowing what I was getting into. It still needs a LOT of work, though.

Quake it ain't. It's more like a realization of one of those fake mock-up games you'd see on a crime drama. Hell, it's about time we actually got one of those ...

Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long age. Did the commercialization of it turn out any good, then? I think the last I played it was when it was still a freeware game.

Well for what it's worth I've bought it twice, if that says anything to you =P
