Well, I put my word in.

I may try and watch it somewhere else or use a VPN. I've heard it was good.
Re: Annual FCC Shenanigans
I am surprised. Usually most of my friends never complain about the John Oliver videos being blocked.
If you aren't able to get it any other way, send me a PM.

Thanks, but I saw it using VPN. I've seen a few John Oliver videos being blocked in the UK. Can't trust these ex pats.
He puts it very clearly. Of course, he also put his points about Trump very clearly too and it got a huge "OMG Oliver has stopped Trump" kind of reaction. Like it or loathe it, Trump still won. This seems more doable though.
That Ajit Pai guy looks awful (I don't just mean appearance). He seems like exactly the kind of guy that you shouldn't trust and gives off a vibe like he is a cheap door to door salesman trying to convince you that whatever sub-standard item he is peddling is the best thing thing ever before he disappears with your money and no recourse to anyone when the item fails. I also can't stand people who use this current trend of starting the answer to questions using the word "So" when it isn't really related to the grammar or content of the reply at all - and he did that in the video. Yeah, ad hominem stuff I know.

(Tinfoil hat intensifies)
I personally hope that if the whole buying and selling browsing history thing ends up happening, that we buy the history of ALL the people who wanted this. And expose all of the weird pornography they look up all the time.
That and the fact that if this goes through we might end up inching slightly more and more towards a hybrid of brave new world and 1984. It will be subtle, but it will happen.

This is friggin terrible. I hope they fire Mr. Pai and put someone decent into his place.

Re: Annual FCC Shenanigans
Someone tried to bid to do exactly that- buy out the public info of the people who voted to put this sort of shenanigans in place. The only thing is, you need more than just anonymized data to do that- you also need to buy some personally identifiable data that can be tied to that anonymous data before everything starts clicking into place. It's not as trivial as the guy who wanted to buy it out makes it sound like. And then there are courts who will not take kindly to that sort of behavior if they hear about it.

Well we would need to have the same people who could find a flag though a webcam by only the stars, airplane contrails, and the sound of frogs. Im not saying it would be easy, but it would be easy to buy the data from the local area that the senator/congressman lives in, and then narrow it down by looking for connections to US government networks. Its perfectly legal, because it makes large companies money. After all these people have to check their email at some point at home. You will either get them or one of their Aides.
/edit/
There is a way to do that for sure, as the NSA used to look at traffic coming in and out of certain countries for our own "Protection". Im sure if they actually found someone doing this, they would have figured out a way to narrow it down to a degree where they can figure out where they are based on IP. Remember, our elected officials this time around are extra stupid/old so they might not even know what a VPN is. So it would be a job of connecting IP adresses to browsing history, and then BAM!. We know who you are and what you are watching.

AS if we didn't have enough evidence we need NEt Neutrality laws, Time Warner Cable is being sued for violating Net Neutrality laws in New York, slowing down League players and Netflix subscribers. I wonder how that's panning out now? Not linking because it's two or three months old news by now- I want a more current link on the matter before I start linking to it.

Doesn't really affect us tbh, not because of Brexit but because we're heading straight towards a Great Firewall of our own. (they will soon be pushing for it after last night)Good job this doesn't apply to the EU ... oh, wait ...
