DeviantArt doesn't use Java, as far as I know...?
Java is not to be confused for JavaScript.

Also, DeviantArt is so plagued with ads and bad code that it is becoming harder to browse at all.

Is Sunlust on ModDB the definitive and final version? Internet's out at home and I can't trust downloading from pc's here so I have to download from my phone but I can't download straightly from Doomworld since it uses FTP for it's links.

Good news for anyone trying to get into game development or switch engines, the Xenko Engine has just been released, and it's got some really fair terms of use
Spoiler: launch trailer
There's a free version for personal, educational and small business use (up to 200k annual revenue)
The first paid tier starts at $75 per user which is admittedly a bit steep but all it does is remove the splash screen. Further tiers grant access to the SDK source($150) and beta access with premium support ($variable), so no major sacrifice, no % royalty, and commercial use is available on the free tier too.
It's C# based, supports VR, Windows, Android, iOS, Xbox, Coming soonish is linux and ps4, there's no mention of mac.
On a quick glance it looks more or less the same as UE4 or Unity

I would assume so, since it was posted after the idgames entry. No mention of any updated version.

Anothee reason people should date and version number their work /:(

I did a quick test run with this engine while it was still open-source, it seems pretty nice and is well-documented.
The engine was developed by a Japanese studio, so the documentation is available in both languages, and both are well-articulated.

I don't know if that's the right thread, feel free to move my post anywhere else.

I have a question about a rather sensitive subject, it's about Brutal Doom...
I currently have a conversation with a guy on a forùm who doesn't want to admit that most of the graphics and code in Brutal Doom is from indeed, dubious sources (stolen) and thus he almost dares me to link some proof and materials to support my arguments.

I do know that Brutal Doom contains an amount of stolen resources, but I don't know which ones. I can't find the original posts nor their authors.
Can anybody clarify this for me and help me in my search ?

Thank you !

I just had an amazing idea: a Star Fox and Metroid Crossover. I think it would work for three main reasons:

1: They're both bounty hunters (I think), and you can make up a conflict of interest, or even have both Samus and the Star Fox group fight each other.

2: They're both in space, and they're lots of space in space, so you can say that Star Fox and Samus were in diffrent areas of space. Not to mention, Star Fox was rebooted, so you can erase certain planets if you like.

3: It's a way to bring back 2 franchises that are in dire need of it, without having to do 2 separate projects. Or maybe this is wish fulfillment.

The tracers' models and skins were actually done by a guy known as Zanieon, who was known as Revilution at the time. Then there's Nash's gore system. I don't believe Sarge credited them for those... although Nash's gore system still has his username in some of the gore actor names.

For the current plasma gun, I believe that was in Complex Doom, unless Complex Doom came after Brutal Doom. The assault rifle was done by Mike12, but I think he credited the guy for that.

Does this help?

Other than for fanservice, I don't see much point in crossovers like this. Star Fox and Metroid both have their own specific genres and trying to fit one into the other's niche doesn't seem particularly productive. The scale and aesthetics of the two universes are disparate to the point of absurdity were they to be smushed together. Something like Smash Bros works because it's not really serious and doesn't pretend that it's canon or part of any of its cast members' main series.

...Heh.

You're ... right, looking at it. Ah well, Metroid and Star Fox could be good to bring back, anyways.

Off Topic, who wants to get Sonic Mania and Forces when they come out?

Edit: On this show of Deviluke Roy's bad ideas, we also have making a fire emblem game in a modern setting.

Isn't that almost what Advance Wars is? The only thing missing is unique units...

Advance Wars? ... oh. I forgot about that. Does Nintendo even remember Advance Wars? The latest game was on the D.S.

It looks as though they're still advertising signups for the closed beta for Quake Champions. It's on the site and in the videos. I wonder if people are still getting accepted into that...
