DOOM1.WAD - cea4989df52b65f4d481b706234a3dca

Post by vanhofen »

I'm going to complete my WAD-Collection. It's nearly complete but there's one single WAD-file missing.
It's DOOM1.WAD from 1993-12-15. See footnotes at https://doomwiki.org/wiki/DOOM1.WAD

DOOM1.WAD - 4,274,218 Bytes
* MD5: cea4989df52b65f4d481b706234a3dca
* CRC-32: 289f4d3f

I don't find these version on websites known to me. Even at wad-archive.com it isn't found: http://www.wad-archive.com/api/latest/c ... 06234a3dca

Is there anyone who can find it and share it to me?

Thank you, unfortunately no. This is the WAD-file from Doom Shareware v1.9.

"DOOM1" is usually the shareware version. I actually had this particular wad on an older computer, but that was nearly ten years ago.

Yes, it's a shareware version. And as doomwiki days this WAD was available for just one day. There was a bug so this WAD was replaced on next day by a fixed one.
But the collector inside me want to have the buggy one too. :)

Unless someone has it, unlikely we'll ever find it. As I too am a collector.

Could you please check the CRC-32 of DOOM1.WAD inside Shareware Doom v1.1.7z?

Is it known what the bugs were that caused such a quick fix-release?

According to an earlier post:
Well, I installed the patch for 1.1, and it introduced some serious
play errors. Such as doors that I know are there won't open; like
the elevator to leave a level won't work.

Yeah, that would need a quick fix right enough. Thanks. :)

Got it. Yeah! :D

But i can't attach file here. It's too big. You can download it from here.

I have installed the shareware version 1.0 (aka 0.99) of Doom (https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/historic/doom1_0) and applied this patch: http://cd.textfiles.com/sprintos5/WADS/ ... OM10PT.ZIP

//edit: I've sent this file to wad-archive.com too. Maybe it's listed soon to complete the historic stuff.

Could you use a different host like mega.nz or sendspace? At least not one that requires you to input your email address just to get a download link?
