If speed (or lack-there-of) is really that big a problem, then use Turbo for goodness sakes. I usually play with Turbo 160, and if I feel like going faster then I go all the way up to Turbo 256. No amount of CAH or RTC slowness will be noticeable once you go into turbo 256...! :D

It's also called Neutral Point-of-View, but I guess the article has to be biased towards the KDiZD team so that they don't feel shameful about their crappy attitude towards anyone who ever dares to criticise.

Funny thing, though, I never criticized. I just acknowledged that there is in fact criticism of the project going on. You know, there is another organism that blots out the existence of criticism in the media... Anybody heard of GWB's "free speech zones" -- the ones that keep protesters off of media coverage of his events?

Saying what you think someone else should and shouldn't be doing, as your added text did ("they should be working on the project and not creating so much hype", or whatever it was), can in no way be considered 'objective'.

I find it exceptionally hypocritical that almost everyone who criticized KDIZD cannot handle criticism themselves. If you don't like being fed something, don't dish it out in the first place.

My dislike of the all the criticism is that the vast majority of it serves absolutely no positive purpose whatsoever. It has no impact on the direction of the project, it upsets the team members, most non-team members couldn't care less about your opinions of the project and it may well cause their opinions of you to change for the worse, it starts arguments, and it basically just wastes everyone involved's time and causes negative emotions all round.

If you'd have bothered actually explaining - in a courteous and well-intentioned fashion - exactly why you don't like the project (and "it sucks" or "you suck" are not acceptable answers), what you would suggest we do to make it better (and no, "cancel the project" is not acceptable either), then I would have had no problem.

If, on the other hand, you have no intention of helping us to improve the project and all you want to do is whine for no positive reason (that is besides pure jealousy, perverse pleasure, idiocy, lack of social graces, or some other negative reason) we're totally in our rights to defend ourselves in a like minded manner.

Note to those who don't have a proper grasp of the English language: no I didn't just say that everyone who complained about the project did so for no positive reason, nor did I say that everyone who complained for no positive reason neccessarily did so for a negative reason (though why anyone would complain for absolutely no reason whatsoever, either positive or negative, I do not know).

Please, I handle criticism fine. Feel free to prove me wrong.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: "The way episode 1 is meant to be" does not appeal to me at all. It's like the KDiZD team are pretending to know what John Romero or anyone else who worked on Doom wanted Episode 1 to really turn out like. It's just speculative babble that does not appeal to my logical tastes.

Change the motto, stop the stupid "this is the real episode 1 cause we said so" crap and I'll have no problems with KDiZD whatsoever.

And I've said it before and I'll say it again: "The way episode 1 was meant to be" was intended as a joke... but considering a large number of people in the Doom community lack a sense of humour, I'll admit in retrospect it was an extremely bad idea (and it wasn't mine, I'll hasten to add - personally I added an 'according to us' disclaimer to it).

The KDiZD team is not 'pretending' to know what John Romero & co.'s intentions for episode 1, we know what said intentions were. Go read the Doom Bible over at Doomworld, and you will too.
Change the motto. There, that's helpful advice.
"The way episode 1 was meant to be" is in no way, shape or form KDIZD's official motto.

Like we give a fuck about Your bitching. Yesterday we learned to keep You babbling and focus on our work, so go on with wasting Your time =:)

EDIT: Nightmare, get back to work instead of having this "conversation". The bugs "are multiplying" at such a rate that a mapper should be fixing them as soon as it is possible. Now.

If you read the context, you would have realized that that was part of a stated outside opinion, and not that of the writer. It may have been somewhat ambiguous, though, and only that much can be directly blamed on me.

If (I'm included there) then Where have I been criticized? Where have I criticized KDIZD itself? else break;

NiGHTMARE, in order to understand what it is that I actually AM criticizing, please analyze the paragraph that NMN edited out of my rewrite of the KDIZD wiki page. EDIT: Oops, why did I post EDIT: Oops,? There were definitely parts in that paragraph that are completely objective.

The sentence should therefore have begun with something like "Many people feel that..." or "A common criticism is..."
If (I'm included there) then Where have I been criticized? Where have I criticized KDIZD itself?
No, that was directed at what deathz0r wrote, hence the reason I quoted it. Specifically the "their crappy attitude towards anyone who ever dares to criticise" part.

Why are some of you criticisers so damn dumb? :) This is just unimaginable :)
I've said it before and I'll say it again: "The way episode 1 is meant to be" does not appeal to me at all. It's like the KDiZD team are pretending to know what John Romero or anyone else who worked on Doom wanted Episode 1 to really turn out like.
@deathzor - This is stupid shit and just hairsplitting. It makes no sense because it is a very variable statement and can be interpreted in different ways. It can be a joke, it is possible that we know how Episode 1 was meant to be, because maybe we talked with Romero (actually we even did), but it is also possible, that it is the way episode 1 meant to be in our own eyes which makes the shit you are talking about totally useless! Beyond that, it is no official motto, actually it has just been used by NMN at all, and I don't think he meant it the way you interprete it! So move away and don't bother us with this one and single argument!

@Ultraviolet - Perfect example of some stupid person, trying to destroy the reputation of our project. It is funny that you did add almost every single "anti-KDiZD-comment" but forgot about almost every pleasing "pro-KDiZD-comment"! This is not "balance of journalism" or "neutral point of view", it is bashing negative banner headlines into the heads of doomers, which actually go into this project neutral at all.

Personally, I like the "Relive Phobos" subtitle a lot.

Argh, can't you all shut up?

While the whiners are annoying, I'm getting more sick of seeing you all just trying to defend yourselves. Just build it and let people decide for themselves.
