I have two requests, one of them easy (probably) and another not so easy (probably).

First, make the search window automatically switch focus to "Find:" field when you reopen it.
Now, if you do some search by clicking "Find next" button and close the search window, then open it again, the focus is still on "Find next" button, so you have to switch to "Find:" manually before you can enter the text to search.

Second, when looking at Decorate code, it would be nice to have some way to see a particular sprite immediately, rather than having to look it up in the resources.
For example, you hold the mouse over a sprite name, and a pop-up appears showing that sprite.

The first is already addressed in 3.1.2, where I've reworked the find+replace stuff as part of a bit of an overhaul for the text editor.

The second is possible, but might be a bit tricky to do as it'd most likely require a proper parser for DECORATE/ZScript.

Not sure what the problem is but maps and graphics aren't being displayed in v3.1.1.5. The map editor is also a blank screen. MIDIs don't play either.

Screenshots:
Map is not shown when selecting a map: http://i.imgur.com/Bx1ekcZ.png It should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/UxRDuw8.png
Same blank screen as this when selecting any type of graphic.

It was a fresh install (on Windows 7) so I don't think any old files are the cause. I checked the SLADE folder in Temp and it was empty. Maybe I missed some settings somewhere? I don't know where else to look. :?

Everything works again when reverting back to v3.1.0.2.

EDIT: I needed to update the video card drivers. The MIDI issue is also fixed (file path to the soundfont was wrong).

Everything is working.

Hello,

I'm a new user to Slade and I'm eager to get my hands dirty. I'm using WinXP and a Geforce 7800 GS with updated drivers. My problem is the preview pane does not update, rather it shows a HOM effect as if the program is crashed. I can't seem to find a work around or any other issue. The console reports no problems with the program. has anyone experienced this on WinXP? Thanks for your time.

Here's a pic of the problem:

Do preview panels for non-image content (such as text or sound) work? Images are displayed with OpenGL so this looks like a driver issue. Does the map editor part works?

Gez, thanks for the reply. Yes the preview pane does work when a sound or music track is selected. The map editor however does not, it behaves the same way. it looks like this could be an issue with OpenGL. I am using the newest driver for my video card...I can look into installing OpenGL separately unless you have another idea. Thanks for your help.

Edit: After investigating I've no idea how to mess with anything OpenGL outside the nvidia driver. Everything tells me it's built in and it either works or it doesn't. Anyone have any advice?

I'd say it's probably a driver issue as well, that's a 10 year old card too which might have something to do with it. Can you post what the console says about the supported OpenGL version etc.? It should show it when you first try to view something that uses OpenGL eg. a graphic.

Also as a matter of interest, does 3.1.1.2 do the same thing?

Here's the console report with a graphic selected. It doesn't mention anything about OpenGL, which is odd. I'll try 3.1.1.2 and see what happens.

Wow I don't know what's changed but the older version seems to work perfectly. Thanks for the tip! I only really need it for light texture work and graphics, so even if this version is a little buggy I can work with that!
