"iSpook" (and its derivatives) were based on the screen name of an old, old online friend I had that is basically lost to time to me, their name was "Spookysprouts", and they were weird as hell, in honor of one of my better friends, I took up at least part of their handle (at least, when I don't use the full name, with or without the small i.)

For what it's worth, he had to be a Private at some point to get to that point. No worries? :P

Programs exist in the U.S. Armed Forces where you can be up to a Specialist (Army) right when you begin enlistment. If you've qualified yourself enough, you can even be a 2nd Lieutenant or Sergeant once you've finished Basic Training.

Nope. personal experience. I don't talk about my time in the Army often because it was so short that I don't put it on my resume. Medical discharge before I could finish AIT.

I believe most armies have programs like that. I started off as a Corporal in the IAF because of a program I was in.

I really wish I had been healthy enough for military service earlier on in my life. Unfortunately, I had very serious breathing problems that made my PhysEd classes extremely difficult. The only class I could take with any degree of effectiveness was the weight lifting ones - but anything with acrobatic exercises was completely out of the question for me, and I often got very close to failing those classes. So joining the military was impossible, for me. But I probably would have started out as a higher rank, myself, with my knowledge and expertise in computer systems as well as physics and chemistry. My stepdad even encouraged me to join the Air Force, since it had the most programs available suited to technically-minded individuals such as myself.

I feel sorry for you. Military is a great place indeed, if you can adopt - free clothes, food, shelter, and you can rely your life on your comrades (those who can't adopt or don't belong in will get purged real quicklike). Sure there are difficulties, your freedom gets limited, and there are tons of officers, who are just talentless evil fucks, but hell, civilian workplaces' bosses are not better either, in fact, you'll find MUCH more complete & utter assholes at civilian working places than at the military.
My physics aren't the best either, I am the slowest runner, however, in the same time, I am the quickest swimmer, and the best sharpshooter in the entire squad.
BTW, isn't your name originated from X-wing or TIE Fighter? I vaguely remember a Transport named "Eruanna" in a mission from either game, but I can't quite remember which one was it.
Oh, and congratulations for your promotion! :)

I don't know. I've always been a bit of a rebel at heart. The loss of freedom would have certainly been a bit of a problem for me. :P

I am actually extremely good with running - but only for short distances. It doesn't take long before I have to recover.

My name is actually some form of translation of "Anna" into Tolkein's Elven language. http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/elvish/girlnames.html

YOUR USERNAME IS RED.

(As for my username, it's the first letter of my real name.)

To this, I can only give you one little bit of advice:

Don't stab demons with the letters in your name. There are much better tools available for that.

I dunno, man, I imagine the letter r would make for a pretty good war-pick in a pinch.
