They are as practical as a handheld minigun that shares ammo with a pistol, but if someone wants to use a version without them here you go:

much better. But i think j means the front hole is still visible...
The barrel on the front is ideal for the chaingun. The rotary barrels interchange between each bullet fired. It may look weird for some of you but in my opinion and from other games I've played it makes a FAIR deal amount of sense. Don't give innovation such a cold shoulder, it's okay to do things differently! Check this out, you have the Vulcan Fury from Jak II. This weapon is a mod for the Morph Gun and on top of that - it also has a static barrel that handles bullets from it's rotary motor:
Spoiler:
If you've played the game, you know how it works. Don't be afraid to try something new, and encourage these spriters to continue going beyond what we consider the standard. While keeping ideas sensible of course

They look like they'd work well in Strife (Bubblegum Strife, perhaps? :D )

You mean this one? Hmm, at least it's reasonable.

MetaDoom radsuit, based loosely off the Bio-Suit Zombies from Doom 3 Expansion

Needs further work, but it's a start...

Definitely lacks shading and/or contrast on the head part, but a good base and shape of the suit.
