If it performs poorly in a resized window, that's you're video card's fault, not ZDoom's. The video card handles the scaling.

Dual monitors: Is that one video card with two outputs or two video cards? Not that I can really test either setup with only one monitor.

Two video cards. The primary monitor (which ZDoom uses) uses a 32mb S3 ProSavageDDR that uses the RAM sticks. The other video card is a S3 Virge card. I have zero information on the other video card other than it's a S3 Virge.

For me it depends of the computer you have.

S3, eh? You could be suffering from bad drivers then. I had a Savage 4 for a month and got rid of it because the drivers were so much worse than my old Riva 128's.

I'm running Zdoom on my 64 bit athlon system at 1280x1024 res and it's still too fast! I feel sick... keeping in mind this is on TUD's super sonic Doom... my computer is good, okay! :D.

Wonder how well grove will run...

No way... its ALMOST playable... wow :D.

Zdoom runs fine on my p100 (s3 trio64v+ 1mb), P2 233 (3dfx Voodoo Banshee) and k6 433 (Trident Cyberblade3d) not a problem, SMOOOOTHly. :D

For the real 10fps or less slowness, chances are the video card is real shitty for blitting. Try opening Dxdiag and disabling DirectDraw accelleration.

The walking speed is unchanged from Doom. Maybe it just feels faster because the framerate isn't limited to 35 FPS. Try setting the cl_capfps cvar to 1 and see how that feels.

I remember going into a discussion about this (somewhere), but capping the FPS to 35 doesn't exactly emulate it properly. Seeing as DOS uses 70hz as the refresh rate, playing with 35 fps in 60hz, 75hz, etc doesn't have that same "feeling" as playing with 70hz.

On the virus subject...

I really don't belive this, after my last post in this thread, I started playing "Gary's mod" on HL2. WAM. All of a sudden my computer started changed btween the resoltions of the 100 one and the 600 one (i really cant be bothered to fine the exact ammounts) It tookmf roughy 6 hours to et it into safe mode, find and eradicate the problem... it turned out to be a virus! YES, i do have a AV, it managed to bypass that and stop it working right! Well... this probably makes me a hipocrit...

People would be mad at Hotwax if he posted this, so I'll post it instead.

Also, I'm about to install sp2 (sometime tonight or tomorrow), so if anyone has any specific hints, I'd be glad to hear them.

Well, it certainly seems to be true. IE will not forward me to the test page, Firefox does.

As for SP2, I found the install very smooth and easy - and I've installed it on quite a few machines. Once it is installed, I usually want to configure some of the security settings and reminders, but once that is done, it behaves just as I want it to.
