Doom with MIDI-Converted Sound Effects
Surely this is an objective improvement to the soundscape, like someone wired the brain of Beethoven himself to a 386. Every sound has been carefully run through one of those infamously shitty online mp3-to-midi converters, recorded, and then converted back to Doom format. It's like that weird Vanilla Doom hack that plays the PC speaker sound effects as piano midis, only now you can use it anywhere and anytime at all, from Chocolate to Z.

Re: Doom with MIDI-Converted Sound Effects
For some reason I am more intrigued by this project than I should be.

Re: Doom with MIDI-Converted Sound Effects
This gave me a headache. Really shows how music can influence people, huh? I remember seeing a video that does the exact same thing as this mod.
Also, the revenants are stil having their original sound except when they fire their missiles. Is this intentional?

Am i really laughing hard during playing this mod? YES, i think i am! Hahaha... Oh god. Anyway those are really good sounds with MIDI piano tunes! I also surprised that some of the sound effects are very closer to the original ones, like zombies' sounds for example.
Anyway would be hella nice if this mod can have custom possesed-piano sprites. Hehe.

The vid I was talking about. I wish they played it with the "Overdriven Guitar" instrument.
Re: Doom with MIDI-Converted Sound Effects
Yeah, now we need all the doom midis using only piano instruments.

Re: Doom with MIDI-Converted Sound Effects
I may regret suggesting this, but it could work if you took, say, the 3DO version's music or some other arranged soundtrack, and then converted that back to midi.
...now I'm really curious about how any of Aubrey Hodges' ambient tracks might sound if converted like that.

Re: Doom with MIDI-Converted Sound Effects
Just rip them from the rom and they'll already be midis. Just don't use the soundfont the n64 tool makes.
