Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
i bought Gameception a few days ago, basically Doom Classic on iOS but with the ability to play mods on it. i think the game would control better if you could tilt the phone not only to strafe, but also to move back and forth. i think it would've made the game immensely more playable. but for the cheap price on the App Store, it's definitely not a bad way to kill time, and it seems to be compatible with all the classic Doom games and Boom mods, which means it's only the ideal platform to be playing Speed of Doom on, obviously.

Ran the LAN area at this local-ish convention. Had a few big problems, but on the whole it went pretty well.

I had my Microsoft account cracked, and since it was connected to Skype by default, everyone in my contacts (a hundred people or so) started getting spam messages.
My immediate reaction was to change passwords, unlink the Microsoft account and delete it since I don't use it anyway.

The road system is more and more complete. I have a road running from spawn to base, to some nether portals, and to villages on the outskirts of my explored map. I've been meaning to give some of these places things to do, just haven't gotten to it yet.

Look what I found!
This is the footage used for the explosion. It's a liquid fuel mortar explosion.

how much of the texts are replaced? and where can I find this Japanese version?Viscra Maelstrom wrote:while we're on the subject of Japanese, the Japanese Community Project comes with a HUD that replaces the HUD elements and numbers with kanji and japanese numerals.
I swear, If there's one thing I wished Gameception would support, it would be zdoom features and mods. I had to actually make a densed crappy version of My Hiro Hamada Doom Mod JUST so I could play it on freakin Gameception... With NONE of the Custom levels.Princess Viscra Maelstrom wrote:i bought Gameception a few days ago, basically Doom Classic on iOS but with the ability to play mods on it. i think the game would control better if you could tilt the phone not only to strafe, but also to move back and forth. i think it would've made the game immensely more playable. but for the cheap price on the App Store, it's definitely not a bad way to kill time, and it seems to be compatible with all the classic Doom games and Boom mods, which means it's only the ideal platform to be playing Speed of Doom on, obviously.

The HUD is all that's changed, for the aforementioned technical reasons. The mod itself is JPCP, which is a fantastic levelset you should all play.adamaH_oriH wrote:how much of the texts are replaced? and where can I find this Japanese version?

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
ehh. you can still play everything Boom compatible with it (which, i assume, would work with more complex stuff like Batman Doom, STRAIN and wildweasel's dehacked weapons mod.) the game would probably be unplayable with ZDoom mods like DRLA, D4D, Psychic and the like, purely because of the lack of controller input. maybe there are gamepads you can get for your mobile devices, but at that point you might as well just sit down and play the game on an actual computer because you're voiding the portability of the game. there's a shit-ton of mapsets that are vanilla and Boom anyway (like, 99% of the stuff i play anyway), so it's not like you're void on custom content for Gameception. i only wish you could tilt to move forward and backward as well as strafing, would make the game feel a lot more fast-paced and a lot less "turn slightly and then push to move forward while awkwardly jerking around with strafing not to get hit."adamaH_oriH wrote:I swear, If there's one thing I wished Gameception would support, it would be zdoom features and mods. The actor who played Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has died today. Gene Wilder was 83 years old who played a roll on blazing saddles and
Young Frankenstein he was a great actor and comedian.

I just read about that.... What a loss man. He was a great actor. I loved his role in Blazing Saddles.Hellsmith1 wrote:The actor who played Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has died today. Gene Wilder was 83 years old who played a roll on blazing saddles and

IIRC it was the latest. And save file. I think you can't even do a save state unless you're playing a GBA game.

I have a question about ZSNES. Every time I try and change the screen resolution in fullscreen, the application crashes. Why is it doing this?

That one actually works fine to me. What version are you using? 1.51 works greatly for me.
