Whats with this " differentiate itself from other "Doom4-import" mods" are you talking bout Neccronixis D4 sprites people are using for such mods as D4D? I cant speak for everyone on my team but i respect the work and find it more original then what im doing "then why not use em for your mod?!" difference of art style, people like the classic style, i like whats actually in the game,its my mod,it gets what i want it to have and that just so happens to satisfy alot of people,thats it;
or do you mean other screen rip mods? not to sound like a prick but how many are out there and how many come close to what zion does? (honestly ive looked but maybe not hard enough to find one) D4D is good, Zion is good, it comes down to how people want Doom 4 in doom 1.

What im saying is Zion already differentiates itself, and " staying relevant" is not as important as the quality of the project.
I did not want to call names, but I meant D4D. What I read in its thread seems to be almost the same as Zion, only with Neccronixis' sprites. So there is where my concern comes from. From what I read here and elsewhere, it seems like there is bound to appear a whole lot of "Doom4-import" in near future. Sgt Mk IV is already working on one. I have no idea how much there are Doom4-screenshot-rip-based mods.
If you think that Zion will defend itself just fine, then it is your decision. I only wanted to point your attention to the rising trend of Doom4-based mods.

So, you fixed most of issues I pointed out? So then I understand you also updated the download file? I must be playing old version then.

you missed a little thing,we haven't updated the mod for a while ,its not ready yet. yeah im well aware of all the d4 mods, thanks anyway

Why would it need to defend itself? Zion is it's own thing, not trying to compete with anyone, and in fact, of all the Doom4 projects coming up, I think this is the only one that's focusing in high quality rips and super smooth animations. This mod is unique as it is already, and like SAHZALPABAEL mentioned, quality over quantity. Why do people feel the need to compare mods?

I've said it before: The more, the merrier. More options for everyone :)

Also make sure monsters don't appear just like it does in doom4... it's very annoying thing so monsters should not disappear just like in zionv7

Very well then. I guess my fears of this mod losing popularity were overblown.
Your mod seemed very similar, so it instantly came to my mind here. But since all of you are fine with your mods cohabitating, then I will not rise the flame further. :wink:
(as for the reason for comparing the mods - as for me, I do not have enough time to test everything. Still, since I am also tracking your developments, I will try out your mod as well :) )

this mod should have weapon upgrade attaching animations if possible. For example in real doom4 it does weapon attaching animations and when you first pick up a gun it shows all the sides of gun before gun goes on idle stage

Some new feedback:
- Bug report: when Demon Morph ends, you are always left with 100 health and without armour.
- Gauss Cannon consumes too much ammo per shot. BFG needs 50 units for a room cleaning. GC takes 10 less for a super rocket of sorts. I would reduce the ammo consumption per shot to 25.
- I do not like that Static Rifle consumes cells to fire. I know it needs ammo in Doom 4 as well, but I think it is counterintuitive to have it consume batteries, given that it is supposed to be powered by wielder's movement (and there are five other weapons that consume cells already). I think it should have unlimited ammo. SR is already very limited and situational as it is, as you will not do anything with it if you do not have enough time and space to power it up, and even then it is mostly a single-target oriented weapon. Accordingly, if SR would have infinite ammo, then the Infinite Ammo sphere should freeze its charge at maximum. (and make Pistol always fire fully charged shots... but hell, probably everyone spams BFG wantonly with that sphere, so that is a very minor change :) )
- Also, alternative mod for SR: Supercharger. It maintains achieved charge level for longer than normal (say, a 3 second space between speed loss and start of charge decrease, instead of almost instantly).
- Lightning Gun does not seem to inflict any pain at all in either mode, despite the description. It is decently effective anyway, but its beam being painless is baffling.
- Does Plasma Rifle's Stun Bomb inflict any pain either? It seems to be just a powerful plasma shot. Heat Blast is much better at stunlocking.
- This may be a repeat of myself, but still: is there any chance we see Berserk here? In Doom 4 it is amazing. I would trade its old duration for the awesome power it provides (I have seen it insta-kill Imps, Revenants, and maybe a Summoner too; of course, glory kills are unnecessary here, so a simple damage buff should suffice, like enough to kill a Hellknight in one punch)

They have made some progress with the mod but from what I heard they got alot of stuff they are wishing to put in that's why it's going to take awhile for them to release it.. Give it about 2 or 3 months and we'll see if the mod is ready :) by the way there are some gun videos available for zion in youtube I have found ;)
