I apologize if I sounded too harsh previously. :)
Anyways, this feels IMO better and regarding lack of nato ammo in Doom 1, maybe it could be offsetted by giving clipboxes little of it?
BTW I noticed when you try chainsawing liquid floor textures, it still produces sparkles.

Don't worry about the previous comment, :mrgreen: Well the backpack adds quite a bit of nato ammo already when picked up (+100 at the moment, It's really high and I might end up toning it down :D) Encouraging use of pistol in Doom 1 is a really cool idea, and restricting the rifle to only the chaingunners in Doom 2 feels a bit nicer as well, Feels really unique :)

Another idea - doom pistol is widely considered to based of toy replica of Beretta 92. And real Beretta uses 15 rounds mag. This could maybe help little out with larger crowds earlier in Doom 1.

15 round mag? Alright! I'll add this in ASAP :)
Edit: This means I could increase the starting pistol rounds from 50 to 60, just to be a multiple of 15.

Haven't downloaded the last update with the chaingun yet, but my fingers are itching to do it! Tonight i'll try to feedback things.

Mod updated
-Monster update! All monsters have been redone and have had their death sequences decorated. (with small amounts of gore)
-Some monsters have slightly better projectiles
-Lost soul bobs up and down ;)
-15 round mag for Pistol has been added (Starting ammo still 50)

I am really sorry, didnt have time before to playtest it thoroughly. We got in exactly opposite problem with nato ammo, now it is too rare. I think it wouldnt be bad to at least make it more common drop for chaingunguys and maybe include it in clipboxes.

If you are looking for way to liven up monster projectiles, may I introduce you to Enhancement mod for EDGE (updated)? It features quite nice replacement for Imp fireball. It is mod made for 3DGE, but there shouldnt be problem in extracting graphics.

I can increase the rate that chaingunguys drop nato ammo, but for Doom 1 I can add a spawner that has a chance to replace boxes of ammo with boxes of nato ammo. I think that'll be the best way to do it.
I have EDGE but I never use it, So I can look at the enhancement mod and see how the projectiles look, should be easy in extracting the sprites. :)

Edit: Figured out a way to balance nato ammo. Give nato ammo a 10%, 15% or 20% chance to spawn in place of clips, 20% might be too much, so 10% might be used.

I have now updated the mod to feature the devbuild changes.
-Boxes of ammo now give the user 10 Nato ammo (as well as +50 bullets, hopefully should stop Nato ammo being so darn rare and should balance with Doom 1 a bit, hopefully)

Mod has been updated again to feature a minor change:
-'Tunnel vision' image when hurt without armor and when low on health has been removed as it did not scale properly at 16:9 resolutions

Updated!
-Fixed a bug where picking up ammo boxes with full clips for just nato throws away the whole box
-Some monster projectiles have been redone! (Mancubi, arachnotron and imp)
-Added pickup flashes to health and armor bonus

I have updated the mod again to move the Chainsaw to slot 9 (this will help users who are fans of the berserk pack)

Man, using the shotgun is like cheating. Can you increase the spread for it, maybe make it an option? Otherwise it's fun, and it is interesting to see another mod based on WOS.
