BTW I noticed when you try chainsawing liquid floor textures, it still produces sparkles.

I can increase the rate that chaingunguys drop nato ammo, but for Doom 1 I can add a spawner that has a chance to replace boxes of ammo with boxes of nato ammo. If you are looking for way to liven up monster projectiles, may I introduce you to Enhancement mod for EDGE (updated)? It features quite nice replacement for Imp fireball. It is mod made for 3DGE, but there shouldnt be problem in extracting graphics.
