I know that, my question is why does not work in Brightmaps gzdoom that is newer and works skulltag but skulltag or zandronum not have the same freedom that gzdoom and it is precisely in gzdoom it does not work :?

I'm trying to help you by asking you if GZDoom throws any errors when you load SBrightmaps, but you instead showed me a screenshot of Skulltag running something that wasn't SBrightmaps.

What makes the work brightmaps? (I showed this picture just to show that the skulltag does not work with certain pk or wads) I'm not talking about the sprites brightmaps must be something in gzdoom that prevents the execution of this file because as I said in skulltag the brightmaps work, I am searching the file pk gzdoom to try to figure it out :|

If you meant this sbrightmaps.pk3, it's working with GZDoom for me.
Not working, I tried and I think the problem is in the Gzdoom engine
Get the latest devbuild here: http://devbuilds.drdteam.org/gzdoom/

Saw in one of your posts that your version of GZdoom is out of date, so getting the latest should fix your problems. Unless it won't launch, in which case you need to upgrade till your pc can support OpenGL 3.0.

NO DO NOT use the Dev Builds, they are currently in a mess. Use the latest official release instead.

Wait, just saw there was a new build... is this one working? I'll have to see.

My problem is just that I did not understand exactly why this happens, is there any way to fix? In Zandro and Skull work perfectly.

What you haven't told me yet is does the file even load? You just keep saying "it doesn't work," which tells me nothing, because there are a lot of ways that it might "not work."

That more likely means the problem is with your computer, not GZDoom.

The brightmaps are loaded in the normal way but in the game they are not active, "this in Gzdoom" already in Zandro or Skull they are loaded and run.

in Skull

inGZdoom

Because this problem only happens in Gzdoom if the problem is the PC would not work on both?
adding C:/Users/--/Desktop/GZDoom/SBrightmaps.pk3, 759 lumps
adding C:/Users/--/Desktop/GZDoom/brightmaps.pk3, 505 lumps

I tested both brightmaps and only gzdoom does not work

But because the Zandro work?

Zandronum runs on an older version of GZDoom. It hasn't yet upgraded to GL 4.0, which your video card may not support.

As for the brightmaps, make sure that in Menu->Options->Display Options->OpenGL Options->Preferences that brightmaps are enabled.

doomguy88, could you please do the following?
  • Download GZDoom 1.9.1
  • Extract gzdoom-bin-1-9-1.zip to a new folder
  • Copy one IWAD (doom2.wad for example) to the same folder
  • Copy sbrightmaps.pk3 to the same folder
  • Run the game with the command line

    Code: Select all

    gzdoom.exe -file sbrightmaps.pk3
  • If no brightmaps present in game, exit and run again with the command line

    Code: Select all

    gzdoom.exe -file sbrightmaps.pk3 +logfile log.txt
  • Exit the game and post the content of log.txt file located in the same directory

It will not work and I think I know why. I see when the active brightmaps, Sprites respond when they are disabled are in Fullbright, if not normal. Perhaps the opengl rendering mode not active. I realized this when I was editing a map Gzdoom in Zandro configuration and reflective floors were running something that never worked in Gzdoom mode This also with the lights and all the OpenGL features. In Zandro and Skull there is an option to change the type of rendering, this feature might make opengl mode is always active. I do not know why the opengl feature is never active in gzdoom only the 3d mode.

What's the value of vid_renderer CVAR? It must be 1 for OpenGL renderer.
