Well ZombieScientists are not supposed to drop anything, and I thought to make the marine KnifeZombie drop nothing like the Remnant. I guess it would fit common sense wise for them to drop something occasionally. Alright I tweaked it and fixed the error. They all occasionally drop shards, KnifeZombie drops revolver or beretta ammo, Remnant drops VP-70 ammo and rarely drops Calito or Rifle ammo. Also lowered Satyr health because I think they are a tad too common to be so tough.

edit: Made scientists drop vials occasionally, KnifeZombie also can drop revolver or beretta. Mortuus is no longer a spawn.

Considering the crossbow was given a heavy buffing, nerfing their health shouldn't be needed. Also not that it's my place to tell people not to make offshoots of Cottonswabs, but did you ask CT before you made it public?

Hmm Alright here is just something I whipped up quickly, basically Zombie Torrent marine and Zombie Scientists, while Remnants spawn in place of Shotgunguy, lowered their health to compensate and a few other tweaks.

mmmmm I don't rly like having derivatives of ny work without permission tbh, ispook asked and that's how this zdoom version came to be

also zombies replacing the demons ruin the intended mood

I think it's a nice idea as a minor addon. To be honest the basic demons are kind of boring to fight anyway. They could remain demons, but I think they need an overhaul aesthetically to promote a little more variety and make them more menacing. Everything else is fairly creepy except for them, so they stand out.

im not disagreeing at some points. i do like to maintain pure demon focus but other people are able to do as they please

just

ask me first for permission?? ill always give permission unless a really rare situation happens, but literally it just takes a pm lmfao

I'm not using any of the assets from the mod, its just a addon for those that wanted it. But Yeah I'll ask next time if I'm making a derivative or standalone using assets.

close to 300 hp for a common enemy is overkill. I even think so for the Satyr demon replacement. From my experience ammo is very light for the few weapons that really kick ass, I feel its best to save them for when you really need it and stick to sidearms or melee for zombies as the go to playstyle, smack them into submission or injure them first with a few potshots.

editing/adding code is also considered something you should ask for esp with users still hella active, at least ask ispook cuz he did the port job

Some little nitpicky things I've noticed

1. The first frame of the shaking on any weapon is double the tics of all the other "shaking" sprites, if you look at rocco while he is shaking it looks like he stops then proceeds to shake, stops, shake, and on and on. Not sure if this is intentional or not, not really a big deal regardless.

2. The upgraded revolver fires a 1 tic slower then the normal revolver when not scoped. Since its not an auto fire weapon, 1 tic actually seems to make a difference and makes the upgrade a bit jankier outside of scoping. Still just a nitpick though since scoped is faster anyway.

3. This one kind of irks me a bit more. You can cancel reload into firing with the shotgun, but not with the crossbow or the sniper rifle. Guessing this is intentional but it feels like a discrepancy because all 3 of them are labeled as long guns.

I'll conceed that these may just be personal problems but I felt like sharing.

Edit: This is not something I want fixed, because it's kinda like one of those tricks you find in many games where the developers didn't intend for it to exist but if they patched it out the playerbase wouldn't take it so well, but I feel I should mention it. You can sprint while reloading if you reload before sprinting, very helpful in arena situations and especially with all 3 long guns.

Since CT is cool about this I'll go ahead and talk about it. Basically I want the enemies to be less demon and more human-like. That likely means replacing the more hellish fire based enemies. We have doctors and the Lich is like a mortician. I want the fatguy on the subway and the old lady with the cats.

ObsidianSatyr is the default demon spawn and WandererImp is its rare spawn. Added ArcanumRolls AKA Lich as the spawn for the Hellknight. Thanks to Mazmon for that guy except for the decorate. Careful, he resurrects zombies and has a deadly close range attack. LichKing is the rare spawn for the Baron, Sonnelion is the regular spawn. The Accuser now will try to eat you when you get too close rather than shotgunblast you with its purple plasma. Mush AKA Nightshade now curses the player with slow speed for few seconds and his missile no longer disappears. Immortal Bloodfiend's can now be killed with fire, ie watch The Thing. Also good way to kill zombies since Lich can't resurrect charred remains. Added some Zombie related mutators.

I've only played the first few levels of Doom 2, but ammo drops felt a little bit high. I don't mind getting the better pistol from killing a crowd of zombies, but I was full on ammo for it pretty much the whole time. Can they drop more individual bullets rather than always magazines? The two zombie sprites fit in pretty well, I'd love to see even more variety if there are other fitting zombie sprites.
