Hid compliant mouse driver is corrupt or missing fix?

Post by spoone »

So a week ago my mouse stopped working. I tried other mouses but none of them worked either. I went to the device managers and looked at my mouse and it showed a yellow thing by my mouse and it said this driver may be corrupt or missing. Do I have to completely reinstall windows now or is there a fix and I just haven't figured it out. Also I really can't reinstall because my computer dame preinstalled with windows 7 and I don't have the disk. Can someone please help?

Ok the mouse is a Logitech usb. It's wired. The light is on but the mouse cursor doesn't move. I've gone to device manager uninstalled it,disabled it and everything else. Nothing has worked. I guess a question I want answered now is if I get a ps/2 mouse will that work? I just don't want to have to start from factory settings

did you try to:
- boot your computer with a live linux distro, like puppy linux?
- change usb port (sometimes some usb ports don't work anymore)
- try another mouse
or just try this link (i've found google is full of similar problems ...)

Weird... so your keyboard works but any mouse not. Did you try other usb devices to see if they work?
If you have some bucks you should give your PC to some IT tech so he can check your pc...

Do you think if I tried a ps2 mouse it could work? Only reason I think that is because it's not a usb mouse.
