How to create a CSGO-like radio in Audacity?
IDF voices
SAS voices
The norm for radio sounds that I've encountered have been distorted and noisy, and these voices aren't. If that's what real military comms sound like, then I'm interested. I'm pretty used to Audacity and I want to add this kind of radio sound to a voice line. Does anyone have any tips for achieving this sound? I assume that using the equalizer can do the trick, but I don't have that much experience with it, so I don't know what frequencies to tweak.

One idea: try the bass and treble filter, setting bass to minimum and treble to max.

I don't think that's really it? I'll try when I get home though.

That is just a simple HPF, you do that on Audacity in a matter of seconds.

Uh, I can guarantee you there's more to it than a high pass filter...

And can guarantee if you put cutoff frequency on 800 and -48db you reach that result, add a bit of white noise on vocoder too to get a bit more of the radio like Doom 3 or Quake 4.

There's still a notable difference. I used a high pass filter at 800 Hz and 48 dB, here's what it sounds like.

Seems pretty the same for me, the only thing i recognize as different is the voice tone, which happens from person to person.
Anyway try reduce the cutoff to 600 then if you want that sligh bass the CS:GO one have, below 600 it have notable bass and doesn't sound like a radio.

I updated the post right before you posted again, heh.
Here's the longest quote I could find, so if there's more you can tell about it, please share your knowledge.

Hmm this seems to be recorded with a common mic instad of zero-silence one, well, cosidering it is to give a feel of radio effect, common microphones suits better for that because the air noise capture.
Yet the effect you got is already enough for me.

Audacity has an AM radio preset for the equalizer. Try using that and a leveler effect.

The AM Radio preset still gives bass to it, if going use Equalizer, the Telephone preset is which fit most for the effect.

The CSGO effect OP wants does have bass though.

Thanks to a buddy recommending two VST plugins to me I managed to make out some kind of starting point for the sound I want to achieve...
