Shadow Warrior 2
Who wants some more wang!?
Shadow Warrior is back, and it looks so good it is almost unbelievable.
Standout features:
-Procedural gore system, guns and blades affect enemies differently and completely dynamically. Eat your heart out Doom 4!
-HUBs and huge open environments.
-Freedom of movement and traversal, double jumping, mantling, and the ninja roll is actually useful now!
-Multiple melee weapons instead of just the one sword.
-Tough enemies with intricate behaviors.
-4 player oldschool style coop, every individual is still playing as Wang but the other players are always anonymous ninjas.
-Some more things I forgot or have not been shown or announced yet.
This game looks amazing, I am much more excited for this now than Doom 4!

Re: Shadow Warrior 2
The real question is if you want to wash Wang or if you want to watch Wang wash wang. :V
I already wishlisted this on GOG.com so I'm giddy as fuck.

Re: Shadow Warrior 2
Hub and open environment?
Are you sure about that!? I don't have quite the time to watch.
Honestly, Shadow Warrior was a disappointment. As a true old school FPS, it failed to match the original completely, had poor enemies, linear levels... even the weapons felt boring other than the Sword which was great. And as a more mindless Serious Sam-esque game, well, it didn't even have coop. Which always massively disappoints.
From your small description of features, it would put Shadow Warrior 2 FAR above that.
I did NOT want more boring version of Wang, but maybe Shadow Warrior 2 unlike most games out there, is actually trying to be more.
And if it is, I'm impressed. We shall see.
EDIT: Had to watch it and yeah, I'm actually impressed. Coming from a guy that hasn't been impressed in a long time. The new Doom looked like a disappointment to me, this is actually interesting. I'd want to play it and try it, now.
But its only coming out in 2016. Hope they make it as good as they can. I' mostly surprised because I genuinely expected this game to have all the same mistakes as the first one.
Glad I'm looking wrong and its showing a lot of potential.

Re: Shadow Warrior 2
I dunno about the first one being bad. I had too much fun with it and I see it as a huge step above Flying Wild Hog's previous release Hard Reset. The original Shadow Warrior had a lot of problems, and while the new one decided to do away with many of the original features, I am glad that the developers didn't try to perfectly recreate it and fock it up (ROTT). The new Doom has a lot to prove but SW2013 was an excellent game to me and it looks like this will be even better.

Re: Shadow Warrior 2
the only really bad things about Shadow Warrior was the story (didn't really care much about it), the arena-ish gameplay (much more noticable in the late game where you're fighting a shitton of baddies), and the boss-fights (which aside from the newly added Orochi Zilla battles, were boooooooooring as sin.) but it wasn't a bad game by any means, though, and it seemed to be well-optimized with no big graphical uglies and a very stable framerate. level-design seems to be a bit more free-roaming, which remedies one complaint at least. if the boss fights could all be great too, then this could be one hell of a game.

We are missing just Duke and Blood and we can call this decade second 90's. And Duke Nukem Forever doesn't count because it sucks.MJ79 wrote:Not just any FPS games, but rebooted classic FPS games!

From the official website:
Weapons so far (from E3 footage and trailer):over 70 lethal blades and explosive firearms
- Katana
- Glaives
- Wolverine-like claws
- Colt Python revolver
- Dual-wieldable Ingrams
- Trenchgun with a cool reloading animation
- Far Cry-styled bow and arrow
- Assault rifle wielded by the red ninja
- The most ornate minigun I've ever seen
- Grenade Launcher

Yeah, I think there's a little exaggeration there.MJ79 wrote: Methinks the over 70 weapons merely include the upgraded variants of mentioned weapons.
What I do hope is that the game includes a few more non-standard non-melee weapons. Such as the railgun. I thought Shadow Warrior 1 lacked in variety on that level.
At least we know we're getting a fun shotgun this time around. (I HATED their shotgun)

Re: Shadow Warrior 2
I really found the Shadow Warrior reboot underwhelming, to be honest. It wasn't funny, its environments were meh, combat was overcomplicated and awkward, and I just couldn't get into it. So I'm not really optimistic about this one.
