Lucky that you live at a more tolerant place. For most girls here, video games & gaming are the creation of Satan itself. Except maybe the poor, browser-running duplicates of popular games.

"Don't forget where you came from." I think one of the problems with the previously-mentioned ESO is that they focussed too much on how "epic" it would be and missed what has made the previous games so popular.

Can we move this discussion back to what the thread was originally about?

Please don't suck. More importantly, please be Fallout.

I wish my C# skills were better...
And that I could into XNA...
And that I could into engine making...
[edit]And that I could into spriting... (Or knew someone who can who would want to help me with making a game)[/edit]

All of those can be accomplished, maybe your wish should be for the right motivation to learn all this stuff.

Speaking of Fallout... I recently played it.

I'm not speaking for everyone but honestly it felt like a gutted soulless shell. It really doesn't hold a candle to ANY game. All you do is sitting in your couch, clicking with the mouse items all the time, clicking and clicking and clicking... A boring as shit experience. I'm really surprised about the fanbase of the game, annoying the hell out of Bethesda at every forum they are mentioned, and having in general a dickish and rude behaviour.

It's not because "It's not to my liking, but to each his own" it's because I'm surprised how people play that crap. Man, it's just sucks when people say that the said game is so good, then you have to try it yourself before you deserve judgement, and at the end it looks like another mediocre garbage that pasted a thon and 12 year olds. Gaming is dying and games like this are killing it. If you really want to click and click all the time, wasting your life's time, then Fallout is for you. It drives me crazy when youngsters play such crap today, while I at their age, played so many good, all type games and let me tell you what - I have played over 150 video game titles in my life and all of them were much better than Fallout - Hell, even Mortyr and Bubbles looked and played much better than that.

Again, this is my personal opinion of the game, and if you happen to be fan or like the game, don't take this personally.

As nostalgic as I'm sure Fallout is for many people, I kind of agree. I much prefer the 3D ones (especially New Vegas, that improves the shooting mechanics), it feels more immersive and involved. Of course, the only 2D Fallout game I ever played is Tactics and that's a different experience.

Be careful about saying what you said if you haven't played Fallout 1 or 2 yet, then.

I haven't played them but I've certainly watched enough gameplay to know it's not really for me.

I will try 1 and 2. If it is the same game I don't like...

*Tears in my eyes* I will be very, VERY disappointed.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad.
Yes, you just click, click and click...
Just like in Warcraft (NOT World of Warcraft), Starcraft (Both Starcraft and Warcraft use only the mouse), the dozens of RPG maps for Starcraft Broodwar (Listed here because you usually click even more than in normal Starcraft maps), etc...
I find it pretty cool.

I am not sure how clicking and clicking is pretty cool. But to each his own.

Clicking and clicking while interesting and enjoyable things happen is cool. This is how most RTS games work as phatombeta pointed out. Infantry goes here, tank goes there, warning, enemy units approaching, let's NUKE them, select target, KABOOM! Regrouping, attacking enemy base :) you get the idea.

Clicking and clicking without results is not cool in any aspects. Take PTC s(h)ites - after 1 million click, you get 0,00000000001 dollars...
