[XCOM 2] Welcome Back, Commander.

If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

[XCOM 2] Welcome Back, Commander.

Last week, 2K teased us with a cryptic website: AdventFuture.org. On it, a supposedly utopian near-future government called the Advent Administration offered a better life for citizens through genetic enhancement, while hackers subversively replaced text and images revealing that Advent isn’t as benevolent as it seems.
Having thoroughly enjoyed XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within, I am very much looking forward to this one's release.

They are promising PC Exclusive, mod-support, and a release date of *November 2015.

I'd change my pants, but I'm out of time units.

I have two (VERY) small issues. First, they shouldn't call this XCOM 2. This is nowhere near the second XCOM game. :P

Secondly, the first game ends with you beating the whole invasion force, then this game starts with Earth being conquered? There's a bit of a disconnect there...

I blame the Thin Men for this. And with it having been 20 years in the future, it's quite possible.

Yeah, that's what I figure, I just don't like when a sequel comes along and undoes everything you did in the first game. That said, I'm looking forward to it. Enjoyed the hell out of Enemy Unknown.

I think the Ethereals may have been fugitives from the Advent, but we won't know until later on I suppose---it would explain why the Ethereal Commander claimed to be trying to 'strengthen' humanity in the first game.

Happier note: Apparently the Volunteer survives the end of XCOMEU!

I think I see an Ethereal on the billboard at 0:41.

Did we actually win in XCOM:EU? I saw plenty of guys lose on Twitch...

Hope it's less simplified now that it's gonna be a PC exclusive.

I wouldn't hold my breath over it. Accessability sells. No matter how fond memories we might have of the original games, their gameplay wouldn't stand their ground on the market today, because most people are used to jumping straight into gameplay without spending effort on learning complex game mechanics or doing some easy math to get the best results out of certain situations.

At the very least I'm hoping the UI will be a little better, and since they're talking about mod support right off the bat we should hopefully see any big issues getting resolved if they fail to deliver.
