Pretty cool. Besides the exploding sprites suggested by Geist, I also think the flying should perhaps be worked on a bit... It doesn't exactly seem like he's flying... If somehow you could have the sprites change to be more... Flying like... Even having energy around it like it's hovering or something. But it is quite spiffy.

better flying....check. He'll has some flames that spawn around him. At this point I don't want to make more sprites, but I think the flames will look cool and give the desired effect.
less archviles....right now it they spawn 33% of the time he goes to attack. I could reduce that to 20% to 25%
death frames for the homing missile....done.

The Hexen palette has a lot more purples than doom, so when I converted palettes the closest match for some of the purples were blues.Tormentor667 wrote:Well, real bloody death sequence for death like the arch-vile one and for attack... well, there is something wrong with the brightness and colors... can't actually say what, just watch it
Hexen monster sprites don't have the fire-reflecting-off-the-skin look like the Doom monsters have, so I had to improvise. The brightness was done by The Gimp. It has a feature which lets you place a light source of any color within the image. I purposely made it that bright to create the sense of him conjuring a really bright missile attack. And besides, he's doing magic; it's supposed to be all funky and colorful.
As far as his death goes, it was never my intention to have a bloody death. Doom can have at least one monster that doesn't really "die." Even if I wanted to make a bloody sequence, the Heresiarch's death sequence doesn't even come close to a "bloody" death, he just sort of disintegrates.
