What have I missed?

Yeah, been away for a few weeks cus my computer doesn't work anymore. I'm working on buying a new motrherboard, processor and powersuply

. My old ones kinda went boom after I installed a new sound card that had a processor on it (it's called DSP... Digital Sound Processing... on most expensive sound cards...). I beleive it's because my powersuply couldn't handle the imense load, so it caused my processor to burn out because it wasn't receiving enough power... that's what i thgink anyway

.

So, I have no money and no real computer... fortunately I have a small little machine that I can get online... so, I'm back... for now

.

What's been going on in my absence? I noticed that Zdoom 96 is out... wow, that's two new versions... did I miss anything juicy?

.

The bad news is that I can not make even a small piano tune... this computer has no ability to run any music programs... this is sad news, but I have a Game Cube and a PS2 to keep me occupied... I just need to invest in a PS2 8meg memory card...

I'm looking into my computer problems and have decided to revert back to AMD... for all you in the know how, what is the difference between Athlon and Semperon? Which one is the better one? Anyone know anything about Denormalization? Randy, maybe you can help... see, in music programs this thing occurs on new processors where when the song goes into parts of silence it causes the processor to go into high definition mode because it can't deal with small numbers (really shit on Intels behalf, and they won't even fix the problem!)

Let me know if you know of any AMD processors that DON'T suffer from this... that would be a massive help because it means that i'll beable to create some great music

. I know that this problem is mainly present in Intel chips... but my AMD 2600XP+ had this too, so I don't want to buy anoyjher AMD processor to be greatly dissapointed again... I'll tell you one thing, this has really knocked out my faith in Intel... what kind of processor is one that can't manage small numbers and values?! That's madness... that makes intel shit IMO.

I prefer a faster Intel than an oced AMD, because that's what AMDs are all about...

Why should I buy an overpriced pre made computer? I know more than I'd care about building my own system and I get the full say and what goes in the damn thing... plus, it's far cheaper

In fact, all this problem solving is teaching me loads about computers, which is essential knowledge for the future, really...

Anyway, once I have the money i'll have the computer

. I just need a new bored, processor and powersuply... shouldn't be any more than £150...

The two new main features are camera textures, aka, where a camera (a player or just a camera) renders what it sees to a texture. The other feature is the TITLEMAP, where you can use a map instead of a graphic for behind the main menu. C00L
