GZD 2.1, can software look any better? (cannot run 2.1 OGL)

Texture Filter IS GOOD with Anisotropic turned on too, "doom was made to show the pixels on textures" isn't a argument at this point because you are already playing with a renderer not intended for "as doom is meant to be"
Otherwise, depending on what you make on the configs, you can get worst results than Ozymandias81, lol.

No, it's on because *I* think it looks better, and I got the last word here.
End of story.

My opinion on the matter:
For low res projects that uses Doom's original pixel resolution: filtering off
For modern projects and higher resolution textures: filtering on

Hmm but well, this is better separated as...
For Vanilla projects = ZDoom
Anything involving OpenGL = GZDoom
GZDoom really doesn't need to enter on this separation of filtering, but instead, people stop using it as a replacement for ZDoom when not necessary.

I mainly use ZDoom, and I prefer the "software look". So these (filtering and hq scaling) are turned off when using GZDoom.
I've never liked them one bit.

What Blue Shadow said (except I pretty much go all-out with lighting and custom skyboxes, and am also one of those damn dirty apes who sets rendering to Bright to get the drop on the enemy).
So basically I'm one of those dirty hipster babies who want the "retro" look of the big pixels but full accelerated truecolour graphics for everything else
