Good thinking. It's hard to find the artists to some of these as they're posted over to various of image boards without names.

Also the unfortunate fact that some artists leave the community without a trace. I've got several by "Moe", but haven't been able to find any primary source except imageboards and wallpaper scrapers; no dA or Tumblr accounts that I can tell. Got the highest-res versions I could, but it was a chore sometimes.Hellser wrote:Good thinking. There's another series of "paint splatter cutie marks" that are really nice, but again no primary source; the artist deleted everything pony-related about 2-3 years ago. I've tracked down mirrors for all of them, but it's still sad and I have a bit of a "block" about adding them to my rotation, since it's obvious the artist wanted nothing more to do with it.

It happens, as much as it pains me to think about it. Some artists are amazing and should be recognized - but often hide away their previous MLP work in either shame or humiliation.

Re: Topic for people who like MLP:FiM
I'm trying not to let the hype get to me; I'm notoriously hard to please as-is, and I don't want to get over-excited too much in case S5 is a letdown.
That said...
I think this is possibly the first season where Hasbro and the MLP team seem to be specifically grasping the full demographic range they can target. Remember the new teasers, with interviews from the producers? Yeah, no way we'd be seeing something like that if Hasbro wasn't keenly aware of who's interested in the show. Pre-teen girls don't go gaga over teases and "behind the scenes" stuff. Adult fans do. They're specifically targeting bronies here, not just tossing us a metaphorical bone.
Considering they're going to this extent, I think they understand the expectations for this season, and I think they're working hard to deliver on those expectations. That makes me really happy.

Re: Topic for people who like MLP:FiM
In other news, I'm a bit bummed out right now. I'm trying to work on chapter 8 of my fanfic, but I seem to have hit a block. This always happens, too; I'll get a good chunk into the story, then ... I dunno, just lose interest or something. I have ideas, I know more or less were it should be going, but I don't have the drive or desire to write anymore.
Trying to force myself to work on it today, but it just feels "meh" and phoned-in. Chapter 7 was rocky, but at least parts of it were kinda fun to work on, like the "Old Equestrian" translations and getting some insight into Rainbow Dash's psyche.
Dunno if anyone has the patience, but if possible I'd like some critique and review on what's published so far? Maybe at least that'll give me something to work on, or ideas to move forward.

As always, EQD will have the streams for tomorrow's episode up. Don't forget to visit if you don't have (i think) Discovery Family!

Re: Topic for people who like MLP:FiM
Anyone watch the first two episodes today? What were your thoughts?
Honestly, I loved it. There wasn't one moment that I felt could have been done a lot better, or was lacking in any significant way.
I laughed, I cried, and I had a wonderful time of it. I felt that a lot of it was, as usual, heavily symbolic of what ought to be expected of us as both individuals within a collective of individuals.
I remember that big " = " that was being passed around on Facebook a year or so ago, how everyone is equal, and this reminded me of just how broad that term actually is, equality... Look at what sort of extreme it had been taken to? In fact, what is the opposite of that sort of equality? Surely it could exist as an extreme in and of itself, with the events of the show being an extreme on its own.
So what's left over? What's in the middle there? Every pony having their own uniqueness and independence, but knowing (Despite racism always being an option, what with there actually being three "races") that there are differences, they still have a wonderful and pronounced effect on one another, and thrive, in doing so.
I can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the season!

So many cult references, and that "No Pony Left Behind" probably sent chills down a friend of mine who was actually involved in the "No Child Left Behind" program
