How well/updated/good is D-touch?
I have not seen a discussion about D-touch yet, so I'm curious to know If it's worth getting for my Samsung galaxy note 4. Anyone actually bought it?
I can't seem to find how updated this is. Is it the last "stable" build or an SVN? And is it even legal for it to be sold? (Just curious) I mean His same ECwolf port is free.
Anyone can tell me if this is actually any good?

It's based off GZDoom 1.8.6 at the moment. Beloko does periodic upgrades.
Yes it's legal to sell, all the known problematic code has been removed (so no OPL emulation, no software renderer, and FMOD has been upgraded to FMOD studio which is free to use commercially for small budget apps). He originally was going to sell ECWolf as well, but decided to use it as an advertising platform for his other ports. I was fine with either way.
Within the limitations of Android, I don't think it's possible to have a better port than what Beloko does. The touch controls are remotely usable (still worse than a physical controller) and it has controller and keyboard support. (Android does not allow a mouse to be used for gaming unfortunately.)

Re: How well/updated/good is D-touch?
I've recently purchased D-Touch and am pretty happy with it.
I'm using it on a Moto 4G using a MOGA Hero controller setup. That controller is pretty awesome. Has it's flaws, but still.
I get decent stable FPS with GZDoom, but it's much smoother with PrBoom and even more so with Chocolate Doom. To be expected really.
Anything intensive like Stronghold, UTNT or even BrutalDoom won't run smoothly. Also, some mods just don't plainly load at all. Sometimes due to not having enough RAM.
3D Models, 3D Floors, Loads of Actors, and most especially Voxels and Hires Sprites can cause a noticeable drop. I've been forced to stay away from such mods, but at least I can disable r_drawvoxels.
I'm still on the lookout for more commands to boost FPS, but am having no luck. Having Dynamic lights off helps, but only for WADs that don't need it.
Other than that, it's still quite fun to play sometimes.
I'm not going to even bother with D-GLES. Too much manual crap, converting and downloading to do, more so if you are going to play any custom wad. Only thing it's got going for it is it's overuse of pretty effects.
Just too bad Heretic, Hexen and Strife requires separate purchases, even though GZDoom can run them all.
But it's probably like that due to also having to port the non GZDoom ports as well. Can't remember if PrBoom supports all the way up to Strife.
Oh, btw, GZDoom 2.1pre is available for use as well. It's under the engine options button (gear) and does not conflict nor overwrite the stable version. You may just have to copy your ini over to keep your preferences.

Forgot about the option to use the updated version.
The version is not crippled. Putting heretic.wad in the FULL directory works for me. Even if it didn't show up one could probably have just entered the -iwad parameter manually. That's how S3DNA can be run on the play store version of ECWolf anyhow.

It showed up on the list for me, but GZDoom just unloaded when I tried to run heretic.wad, Same with hexen.wad.
Well, at least it supports PK3 IWADs. I can run the ROTT TC as a dedicated IPK3 without needing fakeiwad.wad.
Also, I'd like to see how the Quake 2 port compares to this, but am not yet ready to buy it on the chance it may work.

I've bought D-Touch and I'm very happy, it's dirt-cheap, too and beloko is updating it. I'm mainly watching demos on it.

Ok, they seem to for me now as well.
Perhaps a recent update fixed (or could have broken) it.

Re: How well/updated/good is D-touch?
Now that it has 2 versions of GZDoom, and being the only port of GZDoom on Android, yes its great! Zandronum being ported would also work too, but still.
Re: How well/updated/good is D-touch?
I have a Galaxy Mega which, iirc, has slightly lower horsepower than the S4 in spite of the larger screen size. GZDoom runs very smoothly inside of D-Touch.. I even tried Brutal, and it works though I'm not really a fan. I have Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Hexen, Heretic, and Strife and they all work beautifully in the GZDoom of D-touch (I haven't tried the 2.1pre build, though). Though it takes a while to get used to, once one adapts to the touch controls, they are stellar. I got so good that I stopped using my USB gamepad with it. The developer is super-responsive when contacting him (I had an issue in PRBoom). All in all, well worth the buy.

It's by far the best source port of Doom available on Android I've ever seen. I've seen source ports that couldn't even handle music right, yet this has GZDoom attached to it. That alone is well worth the $2.25 price-tag, in my opinion.
