Yah, I get what your saying. I'm personally not a fan of random spawns, but the idea of a throwable mine is growing on me. Maybe something like a VS-50, or something more... home made.

I'll see how they implement into playtesting. As I've said before though, if something doesn't fit in with the limited resources, I just won't put it in :)

Re: Ashes - Post-apocalypse TC -WIP (Working on preview)

Okay.

Projected completion of AshesPreview1 date is this weekend. Having to convert my original files from the WAD into a PK3 format (yeah, yeah, so I squeezed all my art and sounds into the wad and only used the PK to store the decorate, rookie mistake).

Tidying up animations and sounds, and the reload sequence for most of the guns is being redone, so it will take me a couple days. What do you think so far? The revolver and sawed-off/sawn-off (grammar?) are done. Won't take too long I hope. But this setup will be fully compatible with any Doom or Freedoom playthrough, at least as a weapons only wad.

Fingers crossed...

sawed or sawn, doesn't matter to me. anyway keep up your good work. customizing the hand sprites for make sure fits the weapon is heck of a good job.

EDIT: i just revamped and reshaped your one of weapons among with hands.

Hmmm... I like what you've done with the stances.

The shotgun held at the shoulder with a wide grip, like cowboy action shooting.

The M79 held close to the body. Makes it look heavy and to brace for the recoil.

Certainly distinguishes between the two weapons better (they're both break action with top-levers, so have a lot of similarities, animation wise).

I like it. I'll put them to use tonight...

Don't worry about the M1911 pistol. It won't be used for quite a while. It's the first weapon I put in, and it does need a revision. But I'm saving that for the next release. You'll notice it is based off of the Alien Trilogy frame (with added detail), but I'll be completely redrawing it for release. The original just doesn't have enough functionality to do it justice... but I have another one in the works 8-)

The M16 has been tacticooled up. Xenoxols gave me the idea, with his rusty-fied weapons, so I've reworked it with a jury-rigged "sling" (actually a levi jeans leather belt, but us scavengers must make do with what we have), and some duct-tape on the magazine. It's certainly a lot more... weathered.

Getting grenade launcher done tonight as well, using Cap's lovely new stances. Then I'll be revising the "grizzly" combat shotgun.

Very busy this week.

even if you dont use the base release of the grizzly, can you release the initial set up then? just because that alien trilogy edit was hella good

Oh, don't worry. I'm still using that sprite. Just tidying it up where needed. If anything, it should look better.

Or did you mean the pistol?

Getting there. I've altered the hand design for the grenade launcher and M16. I've also included a revision of the combat shotgun, and a new weapon. Not far to go.... :D

Does the new version look better?
