Mr. Cub" Ernie Banks, the Hall of Fame slugger and two-time MVP who never lost his boundless enthusiasm for baseball despite years of playing on losing Chicago Cubs teams, died Friday night. He was 83.

In 2008 June 25th I saw him at the cubs vs white Sox's game at wiggle field. I don't remember if I took a picture of him or not but I do remember talking to him and shacking his hand.

Hellsmith1, please post better rather than more often.

For example, there is an edit button you can use to change existing posts instead of throwing out a new one. It's considered bad form to bump your own thread unless it's a status update for a project.

In his defense, in this case, there was a six day separation between posts. Which I suppose is fair enough for a double-post.

Point taken. I'm just used to the netiquette elsewhere being to edit rather than bump/doublepost unless it's some sort of version update or whatnot.

I would be more okay with this sort of thing if Hellsmith were more willing to actually discuss the subjects he brings up, rather than copy/pasting news headlines and just asking new questions instead of taking part in any of the stuff himself.

Over half the mascots are animals. That doesn't really narrow it down very much. In addition, one or two of the teams with non-animal names have animal mascots, such as the Tennessee Titans: their mascot is a raccoon of all things.

The reason why I put in the 24 car of Jeff Gordon cause he's retiring this year & I've always love to see him race in NASCAR since he started back in 1994 I believe and he's been doing this for 23 years and won 92 races in his career and plus won 4 championships. But being Jeff Gordon's last year of racing in NASCAR and I know that some of you guys here don't like to watch NASCAR or maybe some of you guys do. I would love to see you guys cheer on Jeff Gordon with me this would mean a lot to me.

I hope that Jeff Gordon gets his 5th championship and wins some races for his final year.

On February 22nd is the first NASCAR race of year at the Daytona 500 in Florida.
