Is it possible to insert new lines of script into DECORATE without breaking the system? If I add new weapons, at what places must I add to make then selectable through your inventory system, without breaking your weapon limits?

Or should I just work on new weapons and send them to you when satisfied with them, for additional balancing and inclusion?

With this? Not sure what part of it you are asking about specifically, but the answer is extremely likely to be no. DRLA can't really have altering patches for most aspects of it, you need to alter the base code most of the time.

I assume that's what you are asking, I'm unsure half the time. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Adding new weapons requires adding them to the base weapon, as well as every single modpack in every single place where they would interact with it.

The likelyhood of me accepting such a thing is so extremely low you could freeze lava with it. Sorry, but the only real exemption from that is amv2k9, who has proven to be a glorious engine of wordsmithing and cunning.

If you really wanted new weapons, you could discuss them with me, and if they fit properly ingame, it's quite likely I will make them. There are many many considerations to think about when designing a weapon.

You said you had a meager understanding of Decorate, correct? This is probably the last mod you want to start messing with to learn from, it really is the dark monster of Decorate. That said, if you do continue to mess with it, heh, you'll probably learn pretty dang fast.

Yeah, it's forcing a steep learning curve, but I rather like it. I learn by pulling things apart and putting them back together, so pulling a weapon apart and applying things to it is right up my alley. As I'm working on a set of elemental shotguns I'll have to learn some rudimentary spriting as well.

It really is a bit of a monstrosity as far as size and scale goes. But that is part of what makes it exciting, the scope is so big that it's like exploring, there's no way to see the whole thing at once

Dunno, at this point it's just the two silenced guns, and all the non-saw melee weapons, but who knows what the future could hold.

hmmm i wonder if i can get my hands on a copy of after effects, maybe use it to modify existing sprites via motion tracking

These have probably been asked before, but a search turned up nothing, or I'm blind.

1, Is there any way to stop automatically picking up things like pistols and shotguns? I do need the ammo, but I hate having to clean up my weapon list so often.
2. Are there any plans for melee-centric classes/weapons? My most successful game in DoomRL was a Dual-Angel Berserker + Angel of 100.

There's one in the works, as far as I recall.

I got my hands on the high powered nuclier bfg, I cant figure out how to fire it without blowing my self up. Im playing as the technition.

Ahh. I would never figured that out on own. I first thought I need to time it just right with those lights boucing up and down the gun. Thanks!
