Thats more or less what I wanted to know.

Are floors are drawn from segs?

But what about this "SingleFlatDrawing" method, which could be hardcoded into the doom engine? I just think about the effect you can achieve with "floating wall textures" projected to their flat-equals. With this possibility (drawing flats in a certain height with a certain shape and size) you could fake every possible 3D - Object without any problems!

Agreed, kinda like with Duke3D. Being able to make textures parallel to the ground, and whatnot, combined with the bridge things, one could create complex 3D structures. But I don't know if having flat textures could easily be implemented into the Doom engine...

it all boils down to flat cliping. if it was possible in a simple, efficient manner, we would have seen 3d long ago :)

I seem to remember that Duke 3d never bothered about getting it perfect, sometimes entire sections of bridges would dissapear behind some other sector that was in view...
