alternatively he could upload 2 versions (with and without sounds) so everyones happy. :v

By that logic, he can link to Perk's own copy of the sound pack and they can download that. :P

(Oh, and it prevents having two versionsof the mod to maintain. Win/win!)

Thank you! I've never really done this before, so when I hear that someone enjoys the mod it kind of surprises me every time.

In other news, I was going to run the poll a while longer, but I feel like I've received enough feedback by now to know where the community stands. My original impression was that people were roughly split 50/50 on the HQ sounds, and the poll pretty much corroborated that, so it doesn't look like bundling the sounds is really worth it. The potential drawbacks are far more numerous for including them than leaving them out, so I'll stick to my previous stance that if people want them, they're super easy to autoload. I want to make it clear for the record that I was never holding this over anyone's head, I just wanted to get some data from the community. The sounds were in the mod very early on and I deliberately took them out, so they were never in my "master plan" as it were.

I think you should add the fancy particle effects to some monster projectiles or decorations to fit the plasma particles and bullet puffs.

I think at the very least, the Arachnotron plasma should get a similar effect so it matches the player's plasma rifle. The other stuff I'm just looking into at this point.

Oh, and I feel I should mention, I've just gone back to college (YOU KNOW, THAT PLACE WHERE ALL THE GIRLS ARE), so expect a bit of a winding down starting soon. I've got a list of things I'd like to do, and once I get through those I'll probably be taking a bit of a break. Not forever, but obviously we all have lives and mine's been pretty neglected, so Smooth Doom is going to be seeing a lot less of my time for the foreseeable future. You know, not to be a bummer or anything.

I'm a bit late to the party but I'd figure if you wanted to use the sounds you'd just load them along with Smooth Doom. I do anyways, right alongside the arachno soundfont tracks. :D

Nothing better than classic vanilla Doom with modern enhancements. It's like the way id Software would have made the game if the technology of the time allowed for it. Brilliant work Gifty. 8-)

Question: How difficult would it be to add a toggle for the black gloves version of the smooth weapons? I like the black gloves more than the original for whatever reason. Could you borrow them from that version of the smoother anim WAD or would you need to remake all the sprites with a black glove? I'm good either way, but just a suggestion.

It's funny you should mention the black gloves, because I was just making a mental note of that earlier, being a fan of the black gloves myself. As I mentioned above, I don't have all the time in the world, but I would definitely like to try and get that in there soonish if possible.

Please add fix for Arachnotron plasma, beacuse it shoot it from its eyes not from the gun and it doesn't make sense.

This might be asking much... but is it possible if you could add in an assault-rifle that fires a 5-round burst and has 95 bullets ala Aliens?! :3

It'd be a cool little reference to Aliens with a Stay Frosty message popping up when you pick it up. :D

This is a bit true... but it'd be a funny little easter egg/nod to Aliens.

I mean Aliens practically influenced Doom along with Evil Dead 2. So yah. :D

Anyway, I'm not even sure if he'd be able to use the Pulse Rile sound effects to begin with. Let alone code the 5-round burst and add in a Pulse Rifle style Assault RIfle for lols. You know? A nod?! :3

A mod that has a nod to Aliens.

Wow Mod and Nod rhyme!

Anyway, yeah. I love playing SmoothPSXDoom. :D
