Project Operation Unthinkable's story centers around an alternate history, deviating from ours sometime before World War II, and takes place in several points in time revolving around a madman with the ability to warp reality and travel between universes who seeks to plunge this particular plane into endless war and omnicide starting from the early 2020's. As one of eventually sixteen defenders of existence, it is your task, predictably, to stop him now before he can move on to the next universe...but short of some sort of godman, how do you stop an enemy who wields power absolute? A convoluted chase through ages, eras, and planes, reality and normalcy are wholly divorced in your monumental pursuit of your universe's salvation from a power far removed from reality as we understand it, a man who thinks himself a god and acts accordingly.
Before We Begin:
*Basic weapon sets (the Browning Hi-Power, STAR-48, SG51A2, DMC, MARS G, and MARS D Carbine) will have two upgrades.
*Slot 6 automatic weapons mount via Altfire (default right mouse button).
*The Lafette 42 item will be a pickup sometime soon.
*Hands will be applied via TEXTURES; I intend to test an experimental weapon DECORATE structure optimized for large amounts of playable characters, with HUD sprites that show this.
*The players currently have no unique voices - they will at some point.
*Player 7's identity is a secret, for now, and Players 8 and 16 are undetermined.
Current Weapons:
Spoiler:Planned Arsenal:
*The STAR-48 (STen Assault Refit, model of 1948) submachine gun is an improved, more ergonomic redesign of the British Sten Mk. II used during the Second World War. Easy to control and slightly superior painlocking ability to Doom's Chaingun.
*The microBAR (microBrowning Automatic Rifle) is the most ammo efficient, sporting a low, controllable rate of fire and high damage per shot. It falls short when painlocking multiple large enemies or sustained long-range firepower is needed - the microBAR's shorter barrel overheats more quickly and loses refire accuracy within 12 shots. Nevertheless, the microBAR can be mounted for accuracy and control, sacrificing movement in the process.
*The minMG42 (shortened Maschinengewehr 42) inherited its predecessor's high rate of fire, superior ergonomics, and sustainable firepower, using a redesigned booster for its cut barrel. However, like the full size MG42, this weapon is hard to fire single shots from, eats through ammo, and has unforgiving recoil force, even when mounted. The minMG42's superior ergonomics compared to the microBAR make it more controllable despite its higher rate of fire, doing less damage per shot as a tradeoff. Typing "give lafette42" in the console makes this weapon more controllable and eliminates A_Recoil effects, to simulate the highly effective tripod mount.

Spoiler:Sprite work and weapon backstory:
Spoiler:Planned Player Characters:
Browning Hi-Power:
A reliable, medium-capacity semi-automatic pistol designed by John Browning and finalized by Dieudonné Saive, chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and holding 13 rounds. First upgrade increases the magazine size to 25 and adds a laser sight; the second gives 3 round burst mode, a heavier barrel, laser sighting, and a suppressor. Raquelle gets one of these soon after receiving the STAR-48.
Mateba Unica 6 Autorevolver:
One of few semi-automatic revolvers ever made, the Unica 6 holds six .44 Magnum rounds in relative comfort, is highly accurate, and deals far more damage per shot than the Hi-Power you pick up early on. The general drawback to the .44 Mag is the lack of ammunition available without a modded AMC-42, the only other weapon using .44 rounds, and .42 DMC conversion kits for the Unica 6 were never finalized. Sergei carries one of these around.
Perseus P236 Plasma Pistol:
The standard sidearm of soldiers serving the Emperor of the known Universe in the 2420's, the P236 combines stopping power, high accuracy, situational versatility, and a generous supply of ammunition into a compact unit capable of being concealed inside powered armor. Cobalt starts with one of these.
Sturmman SG51A2:
A German development of the wartime Winchester Model 1912 Trench Gun, the trusty pump-action shotgun is as versatile as ever. The first upgrade improves the pump, adds optical sights and an inline stock, and removes the trigger disconnector; the second removes the tubular magazine and replaces it with a detachable box mag, creating the SG53.
Sturmman SG78:
The SG78 is a fully-automatic shotgun feeding from a 16-round box magazine with a high rate of fire, capable of putting down even the most fearsome of opponents with ease. Its main drawback is its excessive recoil, which makes maintaining steady aim at practical ranges difficult.
Legend Armory Trinity Coachcannon:
A expertly crafted weapon firing custom 8 gauge shells, the Trinity puts your standard super shotgun to shame with its triple-barrel blast and more powerful ammunition. As its name suggests, it hold three shells, and is best used when up-close and personal - the Trinity has a wide spread.
STAR-48:
The Sten Assault Refit, model of 1948, was a private design venture testing then-novel concepts such as the telescoping bolt, retractable, adjustable inline stocks, ergonomic weapon furniture, and modular design, with upgrades offering conversions to .45 ACP and .30 Carbine. The first prototype was completed August 12th, 1948, but never attracted enough investor attention to fund mass-production. The base weapon, like the Sten Mk. II it was built from, uses Erma-designed MP40 magazines holding 32 rounds of 9mm ammunition. This is Raquelle's starting weapon.
XMP5K:
A bullpup variant of the Heckler & Koch MP5K submachine gun, the XMP5K excels at painlocking with it's high rate of fire. It's first upgrade slightly increases accuracy and doubles magazine size, while the second adds optical sights and a suppressor, creating the XMP5-SD3.
DMC:
A simple double rifle with a robust construction firing the powerful .42 DMC cartridge, the Double Magnum Carbine is compact, accurate, and highly damaging to anything it hits. Owing to its low cartridge capacity, the DMC wielder will reload very frequently in more dangerous engagements.
DLAR:
Based off of the Winchester Model 1894, the DLAR makes up for the DMC's shortcomings with its impressive ammunition capacity, albeit at the cost of reload speed; the weapons' dual eight shot tubular magazines must be loaded one round at a time. Nevertheless, the DLAR sports increased accuracy and sustained firing power compared to its predecessor.
AMC-42:
The Marco Arms Automatic Magnum Carbine, chambered in .42 DMC, was designed as a firepower supplement for teams bereft of Marco ammunition against heavier targets. The weapon maintains refire accuracy, and like all .42 DMC rifles, has almost TOO much stopping power, but suffers from obnoxious recoil force and a low rate of fire. Superseded by the MARS C/M2018 "Leto" GPMG, the AMC-42 had a limited production run.
microBAR:
The venerable Browning Automatic Rifle, reconfigured as a bullpup with a shorter barrel and inline stock. Like the BAR, the microBAR can be fired from a bipod.
minMG42:
One of the earliest of Marco Arms' prototypes, the minMG42's shortened barrel allows easier transport and maneuverability while retaining the MG42's fearsome rate of fire. Mountable on its bipod or the Lafette 42 tripod, few weapons can match the suppressive fire capabilities of the minMG42, and fewer use full-power rifle cartridges to this effect. The roller-locked firing modes on the MARS B and C are both based off of that of this weapon.
MA45 Plasma Rifle:
No text at the moment, just because I'm honestly too lazy to pull up the existing description for the MA45.
Perseus P429 Plasma Shotrifle:
The pride of the Tiberian Empire, the "Havok" Plasma Shotrifle gave Imperial soldiers versatile firepower that most opponents of the day were acceptably vulnerable to. Configurable between spread, single, or combined fire, the P429 can adapt to almost any combat scenario. One of these complements Cobalt's P-236 right out of the gate.
MARS B:
The Marco Automatic Rifle System, Model B Prototype, is an assault rifle built to fire the "idealized" 6.66x48mm cartridge at user-configurable rates of fire, achieved using alternate firing mechanisms housed under the top-mounted slide. The MARS B uses a 64 round drum magazine, and is highly accurate. The "Stilgar" Battle Chassis may be used to mount a modified MARS G automatic grenade launcher under a MARS B barrel, forming the M2019 "Stilgar" Assault Carbine.
M1 Garand:
Standard issue for American troops during World War 2, the semi-automatic M1 Garand was a technological advancement in a time when armies armed their soldiers with bolt-action rifles, and could fire 8 rounds of .30-'06 Springfield ammunition before reloading. A relative of the T26, the Savage Jungle Mk.2 holds two Garand en-bloc clips, is dressed in a synthetic stock for accuracy, and gives the wielder the close-range advantage with the Savage bayonet. The M0 was developed in the 2430's using then-modern technology to modify WW2-era Garand prototypes and uses a 30-round box magazine and reinforced components to allow the M1 design to withstand the rigors of firing cartridges with antimatter payloads. The M0 variant is one of Nagato's signature weapons.
XMP40:
The XMP40 family of experimental Nazi firearms starts with a bullpup MP40 submachine gun, and continues with the double-barreled HDb, designed for dual-wielding and hipfiring. From there, there are two upgrade paths; the double MKb, for greater damage per shot using 7.92x33mm Kurz rounds, or the MPS42/59, a strange fusion of the MP40 and the MG42, to maximize ROF.
M77 Assault Weapon Platform:
An American counter to the then-new threat of enemy combatants armed with the MARS B/M2019 "Stilgar" Assault Carbine, this bullpup M16/M203 combo briefly saw action during the opening acts of the Infinity War before the United States began manufacturing the 6.66mm Kaiserli M61 rifle and issuing it in the field. The M77 may be found in full-size or carbine-length. Daniel wields this weapon at start, but not too long.
Spoiler:Credits to:
P1: Raquelle, Final Messenger of a Dying Megaverse - First appearing in 2439, the sudden and unexplained appearance of the Final Messenger spelled certain doom for all inhabitants of the many realities Project Operation Unthinkable spans across. A seemingly (relatively) ordinary human being, her mission is simple - defeat the transdimensional interloper driving the many planes into eternal war before they are all swallowed into utter oblivion. Nothing is known about her or her past, only that, unbeknownst to her, that her presence engenders unparalleled fear in everyone who knows the true meaning of her entry into the Megaverse, but to the few who possess the wherewithal to act, she is a potent rallying cry for the defense of all of existence. Raquelle starts with the STAR-48 submachine gun, a light, easy to control painlocker, and a unique Browning Hi-Power pistol. She specializes in light automatics and pistols, and is most knowledgeable of 25th century human and superhuman opponents.
P2: Daniel Vltor, the Helsturmer - The first line of defense against the demonic hordes that waged war on the UAC and humanity at large in 2185, Daniel is a highly trained military contractor and the first to heed the call of the Dying Megaverse. Specializing in intermediate automatic weapons, his combat prowess is well-rounded and suited to almost any tactical necessity. Given his experience with hellspawn, Daniel is most effective against demonic enemies, and starts with the M77 Assault Rifle and the Sturmman SG51A2 shotgun.
P3: Sergei Khostov, the Suppressor - Called to the defense of Earth from the Fey-gerr aggressions of 2743, Sergei has been honored several times for his many brave stands against the alien invaders before the seeds of the Virgo Confederation took root. Wielding heavy automatics with brutal efficiency, he fears no inhuman creature. Like many neo-Russian nationalists of his era, Sergei bears a unshakable hatred of the Germans for the events of World War II, which wreaked almost extermination-level havok upon most of the Eurasian continent. He comes complete with a microBAR and a Mateba Unica 6 Autorevolver.
P4: Nagato Nishimura, the Legion's Kaiser - The chosen bearer of the Infinity Gauntlet and founder of the Legion, Nagato is a powerful realitywalker who hold little regard for the consequences of his meddling; indeed, many believe that he is the very omnicidal maniac the defenders of the Megaverse are striving to end. While his powers far eclipse those of most of the planes' inhabitants, Nagato lacks a great deal of control over the Gauntlet's power, and seeks to use his involvement in POU to unlock the full potential of his deus ex machina. Specializing in exotic weapons, the emminent Kaiser faces no opponent that he is weak to...but has no advantage against any special enemy type either. Nagato has many enemies across numerous universes due to his constant bending of history and reality to suit his purposes. He enters the battlefield with a unique SiG Sauer P226 handgun and a General Electric M134 Minigun. Blindingly fast and gifted with constant health regeneration, he is a difficult opponent to put down, as the next warrior can attest to first hand...
P5: Cobalt Dominus, Emperor of the Known Universe - A superhuman benevolent dictator, Cobalt is his universe's mightiest champion, himself a multiuniversal conquerer. Unlike Nagato, his power comes from the assimilated genetic material of his conquests, which he uses to continuously empower and uplift his universe's human race, which, by 2425, comprises superhuman warriors trained rigorously from young ages with a Spartan-like regimen; superhumans enter lifetime military service from the age of 15, being on-duty even during peacetime or while engaging in civilian life. First facing off against the Legion in 2432, Cobalt is equally as adept at dispatching aliens and human opponents, and is, like all superhumans, extremely weak to antimatter weaponry. He specializes in plasma weapons and hand-to-hand combat, and starts with the Imperial-issue P-236 Plasma Pistol, P-429 Plasma Shotrifle, and a greatsword capable of rending anything imaginable in twain, Hrunting.
P6: Flynn Taggart, the Doomguy - The famed one-man army who single-handedly saved Earth from the forces of Hell, the Doomguy is a normal human being who inspires unmatched fear in the heartless depths of the demonic physiology. Very little is known about him apart from his memorable demon slaughter; however, he went on to train the Helsturmer, imparting all of his skill and knowledge in one last act of defense before his retirement in 2176. Doomguy's damage rolls are Doom-standard, and while he possesses limited mobility, he makes the most out of his weapons, and is immune to recoil effects from classic UAC weaponry, which spawn more often while playing him. He starts with two unique weapons, a Beretta 92FS handgun and a UAC Model 501 shotgun.
P9: Lazarus, the Nemesis Mage - A warlock hailing from the 11th century, Lazarus first faced the Servants of the Demon Mage in Heretic-like fashion, wielding the Tower of Infinity against the dark magicks of his time with righteous conviction. Drawn to the future by the hands of destiny, he alone can disable the despotic godman; while the Tower itself is your all-purpose magic staff, in the presence of the Infinity Gauntlet, it becomes much more: a disabling mechanism that renders the Gauntlet - and its wielder - entirely vulnerable, as well as supercharging Lazarus' attacks. He can also enchant mundane weapons into more potent, magically empowered forms to channel the Tower's energy. Lazarus specializes in unique and magical weapons.
P10: Duke Nukem, the Legend himself - Earth's mightiest defense against numerous alien threats, no man is more qualified to face the Megaverse's aggressors than the legendary Duke Nukem, even if his machismo has lost its appeal over the years. Specializing in shotguns, automatics, and explosives, few can match Duke's capacity for blowing alien scumbags straight to Hell. Explosive ammunition spawns much more frequently when Duke's around; however, his presence, for reasons unknown, improves the marksmanship of his opponents. Duke also constantly taunts...well, everyone and everything, even when facing certain doom.
P11: XM-03, Bulwark of the GDI - The third upgrade to the renowned starship captain TM-05, he is, as his name suggests, a machine in the service of the Galactic Defense Initiative. Pulled from the turmoil of 2101's Great War, XM-03 uses his built-in Mark.3a Pulse Cannon to put down those who would destroy the righteous alliance of humans and alien races known as the GDI; many powerful alien tyrants have met their deaths at his mechanical hands. Specializing in energy weapons, XM-03 is equipped with a feedback pulse shield, which releases absorbed damage as a powerful energy discharge, inflicting grievous injury upon biological enemies and disabling robotic ones.
P12: Belfaegor, the Demonic Betrayer - Exiled from the bowels of Hell itself for his treason, Belfaegor brings to bear the pure evil of the Reavers of Dis. He was once commanded the bulk of the Demon Mage's forces before being imprisoned forever by Lazarus and his fellow magic warriors, Werner and Ishii. Released on the condition that he aid the defenders of the Megaverse, Belfaegor's demonic powers draw from the souls of his fallen enemies; in addition, he is highly resistant to the attacks of his infernal brethren.
P13: Widowmaker, the Emperor's Master Assassin - A literal killing machine, hand-built by Cobalt himself; originally as a neural-net prototype, then continuously upgraded and rebuilt to improve its capabilities as a stealthy slayer of men, there are few that Widowmaker cannot kill, and even fewer that it has failed to. Widowmaker defected to the Kaiser Legion after Cobalt's first death, returning to Imperial service after Nagato's abdication in 2449.
P14: Valrick, the Railgunner - A superhuman deserter, Valrick wages a two-man war against Cobalt's Tiberian Empire with his accomplice, Conner, from the deserts of Terra III. While powerful, his genetic code is by and far out of date compared to those of Cobalt and his armies; nevertheless, he struggles endlessly against the Emperor of the Known Universe with his ever-present MP-846 Helical Railgun and D80 Service Pistol. Valrick specializes in explosives and energy weapons, and uses a regenerating shield.
P15: Erin Aleri, Chosen Vanguard of the Emperor - The extant legacy of the then-deceased Emperor Cobalt, Erin was created from an altered variant of Cobalt's own genetic code to prevent the new Emperor from erasing the superhuman genome from existence, and was thus assigned to his defense to make such an event impossible by forcing his dependence on Erin's combat superiority. Wielding the powerful Hruntingbrand blade, her eternal mission is to kill the Legion's Kaiser, Nagato Nishimura, to ensure Tiberian supremacy across its many territories. Erin possessed exceptional melee prowess, and is an adept marksman; in addition, rare enemies jump at the chance to die by her hand. In addition to Hruntingbrand, she starts with the P-236 Plasma Pistol.
