Re: Custom Texture Thread.
It stands out rather awfully because it's darker than the actual screen.

Re: Custom Texture Thread.
It would be nice to be able to have an option that allows mods to use square pixels. For most Doom mods it wouldn't be appropriate. However, for some mods (particularly those making heavy use of models where the 1:1.2 factor is not applied to the model) it would be useful. I know it could be done by scaling textures so that they negate the 1:1.2 scaling but that would be clumsy and also mean that the mapper would have to keep this in mind when making sector heights etc.NiGHTMARE wrote:(yeah I know, Doom's aspect ration will throw it off).

Re: Custom Texture Thread.
Wow! Very nice door edits, could you do one that looks like it opens vertically?

This got me all thinking...Nightfall wrote:A gray7/metal mashup. Not as good as I hoped it to be.

A Comp version:

And another with darker insets:

And finally: A brown one.

Pretty simple compared to the quality of much of the work on this thread, but it's best I got, and it might be useful for someone.

Really nice. Makes me consider using it for something. I never really liked the concrete one, but these are intriguing.Kyka wrote:This got me all thinking...Nightfall wrote:A gray7/metal mashup. Not as good as I hoped it to be.

And because I was on a roll today... Moar GRAY7 variants.

[ninja edits to the textures, and to this post. Much better now.]

Hmm...FuzzballFox wrote:Another sky~
Doom palette and this time no repeating moons or suns!
Doesn't really look that great in orange due to Doom palette's limitations (ADRIAAAAAAN). Might experiment with more variants when I get back from work.

Here's a version with the blues lightened by one step:Nightfall wrote:Yum. These will be useful. Though I don't know how well the UAC logo stands out in the screens considering how dark it is. Perhaps brightening it up would help a little bit with that?

Nice. I'd already made my own COMPSPAN and SHAWN variants, but hadn't gotten around to the METAL2 one yet. Here's my own take on the first two, a tweak to your METAL2, and a TEKGREN one:Kyka wrote:And because I was on a roll today... Moar GRAY7 variants.

Man, ur work is good.
I actually touched up several of the GRAY7 variants, because I wasn't totally happy with them.
These ones the 'panels' look more '3d.', I think.

And this brown one, the lines look less washed out ingame now: (Still doesn't look 100% to me, but probably as good as I will get it.)

Re: Custom Texture Thread.
I wonder if using the slightly darker BROWN144 colours, or perhaps the contrasting appearance of BROWNHUG or perhaps even something lighter like BROWN1 in the bands under the "dip-tab thingy" (i.e. the bands that are darker on the COMP one) might work with this?
