Aaand now, ladys and gentlemen, here's to you one of my silliest ideas on a Doom Mod: Doom Symphony!
A mod whose goal is to "reproduce" and mock those first cartoons of the 30-40-50s, and merging them with our beloved game...
The results? A world in wich all sounds will be repleaced by music or simple musical notes, with his own black and white (and red, because we love gore! :P ) palette, and all the movements and weapons (and maybe enemies some day) will look much much more cartoony.
Spoiler: And now some Beta screenshots
As for now Fist, Chinsaw, Pistol, Shotgun and Supershotgun, Chaingun and Rocket Launcher are replaced, but their code is only a placeholder, I'd like to give to each of them some fancy effect.
All sounds are the original ones, because I don't know where to find something fitting... If someone want to help me, you'll be welcome! ;)

When all weapons and sounds and effects will be completed I'll plan to start work on monsters and on some textures, but that'll be the day!

Want to try something?
Of course you can! BETA 3 is out now!

Credit list:
-Captain J for the pistol and its pickup (I love to use and abuse this pistol!)
-Mike12 for shotgun sprites
-Captain Toenail for the base of machine gun
-Zdoom Wiki for the code
And... Correct if I am wrong, but Myself for all the rest. :P

Now this is something interesting I really want to see where it goes... If you want help with the sound effects I might be able to find some of them but It's going to take me some time... For now I'm just gonna leave this here and hopefully you might find it useful, Who knows? Maybe the revenant can do the skeleton dance or something...

I'd really appreciate, and don't worry, there is no hurry. :)

I'd like, but It's early to deal with enemies now. :)

If it happens, it should happen when the player dies, as a celebration dance.

I could probably help with sounds to some degree. I'll take a looksee in my sound libraries and see if I got anything fitting. If I do, I'll post here again. Or edit this post if nobody's posted since then.

Okay, so I have a significant collection of sound effects from the 50s and 60s [including a large amount of Hanna-Barbera sounds.] They're not 100% music oriented, but they ARE sounds from the era. Would they suffice?

Oh my god, the dancing, this is glorious. Those idle states for the weapons are amazing. I can't wait to see this in it's full glory.

I'd like it to do so.
Now I'm making a couple of custom proiectile with the shape of some notes, every weapon will have its own, with its own sound (for example pistol maybe will have a light piano note, rocket launcher a trumpet, ect etc)

This is really cool! Doom meets Sin City, how can it possibly go wrong?

Even without any sounds, the ssg has great rhythm to it. Makes me very happy in a very murderous way.
